Be a part of an energetic and vibrant team who are driven by the desire to improve the lives of people living with kidney disease. Our vision is the day when everyone lives free from kidney disease.
Kidney disease already affects ten per cent of the UK population – and it’s growing. Yet despite 7.2million people already living with kidney disease, too few are talking about it or understanding the risks – you’ll play a key role in helping us change that. Now more than ever, it’s vital that we’re able to drive awareness and understanding of the condition and move forward in our mission to end kidney disease.
As we continue to invest in our marketing and communications, we’re looking for a head of marketing and communications who can bring their skills and experience to significantly grow awareness and engagement with key audiences.
You’ll have demonstrable experience as a marketing and communications leader within the charity sector, able to inspire and motivate a team and drive forward ambitious plans that will increase engagement with priority audiences including patients, supporters, researchers, medical professionals and partners.
You’ll also be adaptable and creative, able to work with a wide variety of internal teams and external stakeholders, to bring our charity activities and stories to life, building on existing channels and supporting new growth.
If you are interested in the position, please complete the online application form and submit together with your CV.
We are committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone and encourage applications from all sections of the community.
About Kidney Research UK:
Kidney Research UK is the leading charity in the UK focused on funding research into the prevention, treatment and management of kidney disease. Our vision is the day when everyone lives free from kidney disease and for more than 60 years the research, we fund has been making an impact. But kidney disease is increasing as are the factors contributing to it, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity, making our work more essential than ever.
At Kidney Research UK we work with clinicians and scientists across the UK, funding and facilitating research into all areas of kidney disease. We collaborate with partners across the public, private and third sectors to prevent kidney disease and drive innovation to transform treatments.
Over the last ten years we have invested more than £58 million into research. We lobby governments and decision makers to change policy and practice to ensure that the estimated 7.2 million people living with all stages of kidney disease in the UK have access to the most effective care and treatment, and to make kidney disease a priority.
Most importantly, we also work closely with patients, ensuring their voice is heard and is at the centre of everything we do, from deciding which research to invest in to how we plan our priorities and our work across the charity.
Those patient contributions are vital, always helping us and our partners to understand what life is like with kidney disease, always ensuring we see the patient behind the treatment and always reminding us that behind every statistic and every number is a person – the patients and the carers who inspire our mission and push us forward to make a difference and change the future of kidney disease.

REF-216 509
35 hours per week (open to discuss flexible arrangements)
Location: Flexible - work from anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel into our London office
Hello!
Thank you for taking a moment to consider this opportunity.
You may not know The Children's Society - sometimes we can be too much of a well-kept secret (although this is changing and you've a big part to play ...) - but you'll definitely know why we exist. It's incredibly hard to be a young person in the UK today - and has been getting harder every year for as long as we've been listening to young people through our world-leading Good Childhood Report.
In 2020, the Board and Executive Leadership Team agreed a bold new strategy that we believe will transform the experiences of young people in this country. At this time, we agreed a new Vision and Goal, confirmed our Values and refreshed our Brand, along with developing a Theory Of Change that prioritises where we can best focus our efforts and informs our Impact Plan.
As we stepped into 2024, we commenced with the private phase of an audacious Major Appeal to generate c£100m of new funding over the next 8 years; we are building towards a public launch of this campaign throughout 2025. At the heart of our plans to achieve this appeal and the transformative impacts for young people are our Brand, Audiences and Storytelling - particularly as we centre the voices, needs and experiences of young people.
As the audience insight manager at TCS, you will help us to put our audiences at the heart of everything we do. You will use your knowledge of our target audiences, the wider charity market and our brand to inform effective and creative decision-making on campaigns and activities.

You'll be responsible for horizon scanning and trend analysis to ensure colleagues across social impact stay abreast of new developments in and outside the sector. And you'll oversee our brand tracking and audience testing and will be responsible for managing and delivering qualitative and quantitative research projects liaising with external agencies as well as internal stakeholders.
With previous experience in an insight, strategy or research role, you will be an expert at interrogating qualitative and quantitative information; able to pick out the most useful points and build a persuasive strategy through effective story telling. You're proactive and excel at building strong stakeholder relationships. And you're always looking for new and better ways of gathering insight.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
-Experience of conducting primary research (quantitative and qualitative)
-A good understanding of the charity sector
-Strong analytical skill-set, being able to bring together data from a range of sources in meaningful ways
-Excellent communication and story telling skills
I've provided more information in our Application Pack. Are you ready for the next chapter of your insight career? Why not use your insight skills for good to help us give young people the childhood they deserve. I look forward to meeting you.

About Us
The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) is the regulator of most newspapers, magazines and digital news sites in the UK. Through our work, we hold the press to account, protect the public when they need us and encourage high standards in the press, whatever the format, channel, or subject of the coverage. In joining IPSO, you will become part of a small professional, vibrant and fast paced organisation and contribute to building our reputation as a trusted and independent champion of high-quality press and online news.
About the Role
We are recruiting a Standards Officer to join our small and friendly Standards team.
The role of the Standards function is to monitor newspaper, magazine and digital publishers’ compliance with the Editors’ Code of Practice and to take action to address concerns about editorial standards, including by undertaking investigations into serious standards failures as necessary. It’s a busy team that coordinates closely with others at IPSO and outside the organisation, engaging with members of the public, journalists, and experts on a wide variety of subjects. Some recent issues that the standards team has worked on are reporting of sexual offences, suicide, major incidents, and domestic abuse.
As the Standards Officer, you will carry out a range of tasks, including analysing information drawn from complaints received by IPSO, supporting the annual statements process and engaging with a range of representative groups who have concerns about press reporting. You will work closely with the Head of Standards and other colleagues across IPSO.
About You
This is a role for someone who is interested in news and journalism, has excellent communication and analytical skills, and enjoys working with others to achieve a shared purpose. Candidates who demonstrate relevant experience will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their skills through a written exercise prior to short-listing for interview. This means that we can measure candidates’ relevant skills directly and make a fairer decision on which applications to take forward.
At IPSO we believe strongly in personal development. All new starters receive a full induction to ensure that they are ready to succeed in role. We are always looking for people who bring a different perspective and welcome applications from those with skills gained in another context that can be transferred to our work. Although no previous experience is required, a background in regulation or compliance may be an advantage.
There is a competitive starting salary of £33-£34K (subject to experience). In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package. This includes hybrid working (typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office for most roles), 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme, a contributory pension scheme, life insurance, an employee assistance programme, private GP service and up to £60 per month towards gym membership or other healthcare/welfare benefit.
At IPSO, we want to create a culture which recognises, values, and respects that people are different. We believe that representing the diversity of the society in which we work is fundamental to our goals of protecting people and promoting freedom of expression.
We are committed to promoting a fair and inclusive workplace where all our people can flourish and reach their full potential. We know that diverse teams allow for a more creative and productive environment, and we strongly encourage applications from a wide range of people regardless age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender (identity, expression or reassignment), marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin), religion or belief and socio-economic background.
IPSO will reimburse reasonable travel costs for attending interviews. If you require a reasonable adjustment, please include that information with your application.
