The Directoe of Fundraising and Communiations will play a pivotal role in the delivery of the Foundation’s 2023 – 2026 Ready for Business organisational strategy and our ambition to reach one million women entrepreneurs by 2030, significantly scaling income generation and building the Foundation’s profile. The postholder will be a member of the Foundation’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT), along with the CEO, COO, Director of Programmes and Impact, and Finance Director.
We are seeking an individual who will excel at bringing creative and ambitious growth plans to life and has strong leadership and communications skills. The Director of Fundraising and Communications will have significant multi-income stream experience and will lead the development of a new income generation strategy to drive fundraising activities across philanthropic donors, corporates, family offices, foundations and institutional funding, maximising ROI and creating a sustainable organisation. We are looking to recruit a dynamic and creative Fundraising Officer to build on the development and growth of income through local communities across Surrey. Using your fundraising experience and knowledge, you will research, approach and secure new partnerships as well as manage existing relationships, to drive unrestricted income for the charity. You will build on our existing Community Fundraising programme to maximise income and engagement.
Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey is a county-wide charity supporting people of all ages who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind. We have been supporting Surrey residents for over 100 years. Our main office base is in Fetcham, near Leatherhead, and our team of staff and volunteers work out in the community across the county.
The post holder will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to prioritise effectively and manage a busy and varied workload. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated and ambitious team, and to play an integral role in growing fundraising activity across Surrey.
Job Purpose:
The post holder must have a minimum of two years fundraising experience and use their initiative, personal presence and drive to support all fundraising activity to achieve a substantial increase in unrestricted income.
Principle Accountabilities:
· Research, identify, approach and secure new partnership opportunities

Work Context:
The post holder will be highly motivated and organised to research, identify and build new and existing relationships with local businesses and community organisations in order to increase unrestricted income and engagement for the charity.
Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey constantly needs to reassess its priorities in line with a changing funding environment and the needs identified by its members and service users. These factors are crucial to the charity’s survival and need careful attention. In order for the charity to successfully manage these pressures there is a need for all staff to be flexible and work wherever their core skills are needed most. Summary of role: This is a varied role which will see the successful applicant working outside on practical grounds maintenance and conservation tasks in some of the most beautiful parts of the Colne Valley.
You will be joining the Green Team who carry out a range of projects across the Colne Valley Regional Park. These include nature reserve management, grounds maintenance, corporate volunteering events, volunteering events for the public, hard landscaping tasks, and conducting Green Skills Courses to educate long-term unemployed individuals. Your role will assist in the delivery of this work.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Donor Engagement UK, the Development Officer’s role is to provide back-end support to the UK fundraisers supporting the moves management process and smooth running of the virtual office, ensuring compliance with UK laws. Key Responsibilities
Administration
- Manages virtual offices and membership programme payment processing in collaboration with our data services team based in the US.

- Works with Data Services and the UK team to review portfolios and make sure amendments are made on Raiser Edge ( RE).
Content Development and Communications
- Manages regular mailings to target audiences, as well as invitations to organisational wide donor engagement activities.
- Sends donor acknowledgements by email and phone calls (for smaller gifts).
Requirements and Skills
- Knowledge of the UK fundraising market, UK data protection guidelines and best practice and experience of working within these guidelines.

The Role
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.
The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.
You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them.
