PFP is a UK-based charity working in Africa and Asia since 2004, and this year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our Mission is to work together with local people and filmmakers to produce, distribute and show local language educational films that give help and hope to vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Our latest activities have primarily focused on Malawi, Sierra Leone and Kenya.
Every PFP film seeks to bring about positive change by engaging audiences with themes, characters and subjects that address important challenges facing themselves and their communities.
- We commission, fund and manage film productions
- We train and mentor local film makers
- We partner with other organisations to produce media for their charitable objectives
- We organise film distribution and viewings and promote digital engagement

We produce a range of media from short documentaries and music videos to full-length feature dramas. Our work covers a wide range of subjects, including: health, disability and rights; social prejudice and stigma; agriculture; and environment and conservation.

Primary responsibilities
- Attend and contribute to quarterly Board meetings and informal catch-ups.
- Work with the Trustees and Directors in developing and advancing PFP’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Contribute to the effective governance of PFP, including: ensuring PFP is accountable and carrying out its purpose for public benefit; ensuring compliance with the governing document and applicable law; and challenging the management of resources and ensuring financial stability.
- Support executive management and partners on the design and delivery of programmes across all stages, including partner engagement, filmmaking and distribution, and monitoring and evaluation processes.
- Proactively seek fundraising opportunities.
- Act as an ambassador and public representative for PFP.
- Opportunity to further contribute to the activities of the charity as much as desired.

Social Anxiety Alliance UK is a young and developing charity looking for an experienced Treasurer with a background in financial management and accounting who can also help us to find funding and grants to continue the charity's development. The Treasurer will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial administration of the charity and will have a good understanding of charity finance and potential funding/grant awarding bodies. Anticipatory anxiety and situational avoidance are common, and individuals may endure social situations with a high level of discomfort. The scope of the anxiety may be focused on specific types of social situations or generalised to almost any social encounter.
We are the first UK charity dedicated to Social Anxiety.
We are a friendly board and we hold our meetings monthly online in the evening. Getting involved will mean that you can work with us to ensure financial sustainability, maximise income through grant applications and to set the strategic direction for the charity. About the role.
We are looking for a new trustee with senior experience in an organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness and/or disadvantaged young people. This person will be contributing as a key member of our trustee Board with a particular focus on our grant giving and how we direct our funds to organisations creating longer-term impact in our areas of focus.
As a proactive grantmaker, we are always looking to refine and develop our grant-giving activity. You will play a key part in helping us think through and advise on grant-giving opportunities, bringing your insights and understanding to inform our grant-giving activity.
Who we are looking for.
You will bring a real passion for our work and a strong alignment to the values and principles that underpin our work, in particular values of compassion and respect, by which Sir John Laing lived his life and which shaped his support for others.
As our trustee, you will have relevant experience in an organisation that focuses on supporting people who are experiencing homelessness and/or disadvantaged young people facing socio-economic barriers and inequality. We are interested in funding organisations that create long-term systemic and strategic change. Bringing insight into initiatives that drive this, whether it is empowering young people, contributing to ending the cycle of homelessness or strengthening communities, would be interesting to us.
With a commitment to equity and inclusion, we welcome first-time trustees and those with lived experience to consider this opportunity, and a full and comprehensive induction will be provided to enable you to contribute fully.
Time commitment.
Board meetings are held quarterly in central London, and attendance in person is preferred, but may be virtual. Our new Trustee will be expected to participate in the Board meetings, spend up to 2 days a year attending events and/or visiting projects, and give strategic insight on grant making / advise on specific grant proposals. The time commitment will be c.8 hours per month.

We are looking for people with a background in fundraising on a scale of £200k+ who know how to speak with corporate sponsors and can engage directly with our events team. You will be part of a team of Trustee's and responsible for your area of expertise, which requires an experienced leader of people.

About Pain Concern
Pain Concern is a charity providing information and support to people with pain and those who care for them, whether family, friends or healthcare professionals. All pain is unpleasant, but for the 7.8 million people in the UK living with long-term pain it is a part of everyday life. Role purpose
We have various fundraising events throughout the year and we are looking for volunteers to help us to support our amazing fundraisers. This would involve joining us at the fundraising events to cheer them on. This role would suit enthusiastic people who would like to motivate fundraisers to complete their event. We will have at least one cheer point along the route, where we will be showing our dedicated fundraisers how much we support them by cheering and clapping as loud as we can. This will also help to increase awareness of Pain Concern and the support the charity provides.
1 in 4 people in the UK live with long term pain, help us to help others by cheering on our fundraisers!

Akshaya Patra, the Indian-born charity which provides nutritious school meals to more than 2.2 million children every day, is recruiting two new Trustees for its UK organisation.
Akshaya Patra UK raises awareness and funds to help sustain and grow the organisation’s support to children living in poverty across India, whilst directly running Akshaya Patra’s first international kitchen in North London, from which 700,000 meals have been served to British beneficiaries since it opened in 2020.
The UK charity recently published its ambitious new strategic plan and is entering an exciting phase of development, as it seeks to grow its UK meals programme and thereby support many more disadvantaged children across Britain to both eat well and make the most of their education.
The Trustee role
Akshaya Patra UK’s vision is a world where no child is deprived of education because of hunger. And our mission is to build a movement of people who – working together with compassion, generosity and determination – will ensure a growing number of vulnerable children can realise their full potential free from poverty and malnutrition.
To help us navigate the next stages in our vital journey, we have the opportunity to welcome two new members to our volunteer Trustee Board.
Our Trustees – in close collaboration with our CEO and staff team – draw on their diverse mix of backgrounds and skillsets to guarantee Akshaya Patra UK’s good governance, set our strategic direction, carefully steward our resources, uphold our vision and values, and ensure we always act in the best interests of those children and communities we exist to serve.
Applications are invited from those with the knowledge and experience – perhaps gained from working at a senior level in the business, public or charity sectors – needed to provide strategic insight, sound advice and constructive challenge to both fellow Trustees and the staff team.

The key time commitments involved in this non-remunerated Trustee role are:
- Attendance at a two-hour Board meeting once per quarter.
- Participation in an annual strategy day.

Half of all Board meetings are generally held online, with Trustees invited to attend in-person meetings in central London for the other half (with support available for reasonable expenses).
