Oasis are now in a position to employ an experienced Youth Development Worker to work alongside the children’s, youth and community hub team in Oldham. The role will be focussed on the Oldham South community (surrounding Oasis Academies Oldham and Limeside) working closely with the academies as part of Oasis Hub Oldham.
As a Youth Development Worker you will;
· Work as part of the community hub team to plan and deliver youth services that address the needs of the local neighborhood, including open access, holiday and community activities.
· Deliver targeted programmes of work for young people impacted by youth violence.
· Build positive and supportive relationships with young people to develop their skills, knowledge and aspirations.
· Strengthen and sustain working relationships with local partners to provide holistic, sustainable and bespoke support for young people.

Amongst other requirements, the successful post holder must have:
· Relevant experience OR qualification in Youth & Community (JNC), Social Work (QSW) or SEND.

Job Profile
The role of the Major Gifts and Philanthropy (MGP) Team Research and Information Manager is a unique role within the sector and CAFOD. Working across MGP (which is made up of Major Donors and Corporate teams) as well as others, such as the Trusts and Foundations Team, it has been developed to meet the growing needs of planning and reporting across MGP and to ensure income growth is focused on raising the funds needed to achieve short and long term organisation priorities.
A pivotal role, the post-holder will hold lead expertise in philanthropy communications at CAFOD, working with other stakeholders to identify funding priorities so MGP can achieve an income forecast of nearly £3.17m in 2024/25.
Managing the Research and Information Executive, the post-holder will make sure that concept notes, proposals and reports are written for the most strategic work, and that MGP relationship managers are informed of projects in need of funding. With oversight of all team donor proposals, reporting and communications, you will ensure they align with CAFOD’s values, especially promoting anti-racist messages in line with our commitment to becoming an anti-racist organisation.
The post-holder will share key donor trends and work closely with the Philanthropy Manager and Corporate Partnerships Manager to understand their research needs and develop a research strategy. Alongside the Research and Information Executive, you will complete research into top-level prospects and donors.
This post sits in the MGP team, which is part of the Fundraising and Participation Group. As MGP’s information and prospect research expert, you will work with the Executive team, International Programmes, Integrated Fundraising and Business Innovation team, Data and Insight, Communications and Finance teams as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic leadership of MGP’s funding portfolio & engagement
- Lead on the implementation of MGP’s funding strategy, maintaining a funding proposal pipeline and tracking where funds have been secured for projects, so it sits as a centre of excellence across CAFOD
- Oversee donor communications for the team, including appeals and cases for support for CAFOD’s most strategic work: unrestricted, and our humanitarian funding initiative, Every Second Counts; ensuring communications comply with anti-racist communication and fundraising principles
- Build strong relationships with International Programmes staff and facilitate meetings for them to share strategic work with MGP team
- Identify and influence change, especially relating to donor systems and processes
- Work with Country teams to source relevant information and write funding proposals and reports for donors
- Mentor MGP relationship managers ensuring they can write their funding materials with success
- Work with the Head of MGP to continually improve MGP systems and processes, and adapt them where necessary
Lead prospect and donor research
- Use expertise to research and evaluate information on donors and prospective donors, focusing on high-value supporters
- Working with the team leads, identify their research needs and develop and implement a prospect research strategy that meets these
- Identify key trends relevant to the MGP team - collating and analyse internal and external donor trends and reports and sharing them with the team
- Work with the Head of MGP and the senior International Programme (IP) team to develop new multi-year initiatives and feasibility/ scoping studies
- Alongside the Philanthropy Manager have an overview of MGP’s supporter Ethical Checks Policy and support ethical checks and policy compliance as needed
- Work across the team to maintain donor profiles, train and guide the team members in writing their profiles, briefing notes and event profiles
- Work with team leads and external research agencies for profiling and wealth screening audits.
Information Management
- Maintain donor contact details in compliance with GDPR, data protection legislation and fundraising best practices
- Have an overview of all MGP requests to CAFOD’s Data and Insight team and assist as required in gathering internal donor trends and reports
- Work with the team to manage systems and records and update information on high-priority donors as required.
Budget & Planning
- Participate in MGP planning and budget activities
- Analyse income-related reports and share them with the Head of MGP
- Benchmark, monitor, draw upon and share best practices with MGP
People Management

River Church Ipswich is an HTB Network church plant in the town centre of Ipswich, which launched in September 2021 and has already grown quickly into a thriving resource church, with a congregation of more than 200, and three Sunday services.
The Spear Centre Manager will work as part of the River Church staff team to oversee the delivery of Spear—an employability programme equipping and empowering unemployed 16-24 year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

- Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

Oversight of Spear Programme Spear
Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.
- As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education
Line management and training
- Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.
Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
- Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
- Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.

Role Description
The Programme Manager is a highly-efficient, well-organised, and internationally-respected member of the nuclear policy community.They are expected to be able to take primary ownership of project delivery management as well as lead the development of multiple new projects, including developing ideas leading to successful fundraising.They will have strong knowledge of several methodologies which could be used for new projects and will have a track record of winning funding, as well as some knowledge of funding relationships.
The Programme Manager will have specialisation in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Regime and will need to have a good general knowledge of global security and conflict resolution, and a demonstrable ability to design and carry out project management and research to a high standard. They are expected to be an internationally recognised researcher with a strong area of specialisation related to nuclear weapons issues, specifically in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty regime.
The Programme Manager will implement the Non-Proliferation Treaty Monitor (NPT Monitor), a platform that provides independent analysis and information on the effectiveness and implementation of the Treaty by the NPT-recognised nuclear-weapon States. The key objective for the Programme Manager will be to develop this project to a level where the NPT Monitor becomes a permanent and essential fixture of the NPT regime, providing significant analysis on treaty implementation for States Parties (especially smaller delegations), NGOs, and academia.
The Programme Manager will demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision within the nuclear policy community. They will have a robust track record of policy-relevant publications. A strong network in their area of specialisation is essential, and they are expected to maintain and expand it to benefit BASIC. The Programme Manager will also be responsible for line managing team members across multiple projects, demonstrating exceptional leadership and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
For the Senior Policy Fellow title, we expect a well-developed professional network, particularly in fundraising relationships; we expect the ability to manage large scale, complex projects with budgets exceeding £400,000/year; and we expect an independently developed vision for the growth and further development of the programme including a fundraising strategy to match this ambition. This role also demands a formal project or programme management qualification, although we are open to discussing the provision of training if this has not already been achieved.

Our Governance Coordinator is the key point of contact for all External Speaker bookings by KCLSU student societies and activity groups.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete initial checks, and any required risk assessments, for all external speaker bookings, against the trigger criteria within the policy.
- Coordinate mitigations such as chairing training for events that are high risk.
- Liaise with Kings to enable student groups with external speakers to book rooms for events.

Role Description
The Project Manager is an adept and organised professional, esteemed within the nuclear policy community for their level. Responsible for overseeing a discrete package of work, they must demonstrate a clear understanding and alignment with broader programme goals, strategies, and objectives. The role will report to the Programme Manager.
Taking charge of project deliverables, the Project Manager will navigate the entire project cycle, from generating fundraising ideas to developing them further and building knowledge of funding relationships. The Project Manager should possess a solid understanding of global security and conflict resolution, coupled with a proven ability to design, and execute high-quality project management and research. The ideal candidate is an established researcher with a specialisation in nuclear weapons issues, in particular the Non-Proliferation Treaty regime, and an emerging track record of policy relevant publications.
The Project Manager will kickstart and manage BASIC’s new project: the Nuclear Transparency Index (NUTRI). The Nuclear Transparency Index (NUTRI) will be an online index maintained by BASIC that will assess the transparency of all States that possess nuclear weapons (both those recognised by the Non-Proliferation Treaty and those that are not). Looking at nuclear transparency in its various aspects, the index, using a series of metrics, will enable ranking and comparison of changes over time. The Project Manager will need to apply creative thinking to the development of a transparency framework, and strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess the implementation of each metric by the states under review.
The Project Manager should also possess the skills to promote their work at relevant multilateral forums, expand their network in their area of specialisation, benefiting BASIC, and be capable of line managing other team members within their project.
This role necessitates a formal project or programme management qualification – BASIC will provide the Project Manager with such training and qualifications if they do not already possess one.
