JOB PURPOSE
The Children and Young People’s Mentor will work within the CYP team to deliver services relating to children and young people affected by Domestic violence and Abuse.
They will hold a caseload for direct 1-1 work with young people/ girls and deliver a programme of groups in schools to adolescent girls. Responsibilities will include recording of data, reporting and completing evaluations.
They will be expected to promote the work of the Rising Sun and take a share of responsibility in delivering or assisting with promotional work within the organisation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery
- Work 1-1 with young people (aged 11 to 15 years) affected by Domestic violence and Abuse
- Build positive working relationships with local schools to deliver this programme
- Hold own caseload and respond in a way that understands the needs of the young people the Rising Sun supports
- Work in a mentoring capacity with children and adolescents with a specific focus on domestic abuse and its impact
- Recognise the impact of domestic abuse on young people and families; showing empathy and understanding in working with these families and developing the capacity to adopt a trauma informed approach to the work
- Support and facilitate groups in schools and in the community focusing on healthy relationships, spotting red flags etc
- Work flexibly with young people and meet with them in a variety of settings such as schools, colleges and community centres, depending on their needs
- Work creatively and flexibly to help support a vulnerable and at times challenging client group.
- Build relationships with partner agencies such as social care, early help, schools, police and health services
- Attend meetings on behalf of the Rising Sun where necessary, promote multi-agency working and build positive working relationships with external agencies at all times
- Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and building positive working-relationships with team members

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge and Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in working with children and young people (Desirable)
- A thorough understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on domestic abuse (coercive control, sexual violence, so-called ‘honour- based violence’, forced marriage and FGM)
- Experience of working with young girls and adolescent females with focus around understanding emotions, shame and gender identity (Desirable)
- Excellent understanding of the impact of domestic violence on children and young people, families and communities
- Thorough knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures and legislation
- Good understanding of the operation of the agencies working together to support survivors such as social services, police, MARAC etc (Desirable)
Experience
- Relevant experience of working 1 to 1 with young people
- Experience of facilitating groups with young people (Desirable)
- Experience of advocating for the rights of survivors to access safety and freedom alongside partner agencies to facilitate this
- Experience of assessing needs, safety and support planning, considering accessibility needs

About the role:
We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, and the ability to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation - driving system, quality and process improvements.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Working with the CEO to deliver effective day-to-day operations for the organisation, managing the Operational Excellence Workstream and our approach to Quality.

- Oversee cyber security and coordinate IT support services, including the Foundation’s IT and digital platforms – maintaining licenses, agreements and contracts.
Essential knowledge, skills & experience include:
- Previous experience in a Senior Operations management role, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit setting
- Strong leadership qualities to lead operations and fulfil an executive function
- Reliable with a high level of discretion and integrity – able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
- Excellent IT and digital skills including Microsoft Office 365. Skilled in using workplace systems including Teams and SharePoint
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of managing compliance and risk, including safeguarding and GDPR – able to identify and respond to organisational risks

Position
This role is part of a small team that forms the secretariat for two vibrant, dynamic networks of mission-driven asset owners: the Charities Responsible Investment Network (CRIN) and the Responsible Investment Network – Universities (RINU). We support members to align their investments with their social and environmental missions and values through a tailored programme of networking, advocacy and educational activities. You will make a significant contribution to our team by supporting the design and delivery of our annual workplan for CRIN and RINU and engaging members to participate in network activities. You will be key to ensuring the smooth running of the secretariat, including monitoring and evaluation to ensure that our work is as impactful as possible.
The secretariat sits in ShareAction’s Investor Engagement team, which engages with a range of actors to develop and drive up standards of responsible investment. You will work closely with the Senior Engagement Manager (Asset Owner Networks), who manages the work of the networks, and with the Senior Research Manager (Investors), who supports members to leverage research and analysis, and engage with their financial service providers, such as asset managers and consultants.
In this fast-paced role, on a day-to-day basis, you might be:
- Designing new projects (such as an educational workshop or advocacy initiative) for our annual workplan of activities.
- Responding to enquiries from and holding meetings with members or prospective members (foundations, trusts, operational charities, universities and colleges).
- Organising quarterly member meetings, as well as other workshops on topics such as participatory decision-making in investment, artificial intelligence and responsible investment, or divestment and the arms trade (scheduling, agenda drafting, note taking, facilitating discussions and coordinating follow-up actions).
- Writing case studies or articles to showcase the cutting-edge work of members.
- Conducting small research tasks and drafting discussion papers to inform members of responsible investment approaches and best practice.

This is a new and exciting role in Refuge, and the post holder will be embedded within borough housing teams to facilitate the dual working that will ensure that survivors’ safety and housing needs are met. The post holder will be based within housing teams for three days a week, to help facilitate.

The role
Cruse Bereavement Support is the UK’s leading Bereavement charity. We help people through one of the most painful times of their lives through bereavement support, information and campaigning.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Service Delivery Co-ordinator to join our Somewhere For Us Project team. The aim of the Somewhere For Us project is to ensure that children and young people feel supported on their grief journey. The project service is co-designed with a Youth Advisory Group. You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of bereavement supports to children, young people and communities across the Western and Northern Trust Areas and wider NI if required. The support is provided through Understanding Your Child’s Bereavement online session for parents, group support, 1-1 support and Understanding Your Bereavement online sessions for children and young people. Awareness sessions are provided to organisations and individuals working with children and young people within the community, for example sports clubs, community groups, schools, churches.
The Somewhere For Us Project supports bereaved children and young people aged 8 – 25. It is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund through their Empowering Young People funding stream.
The post is based in our Foyle office, with one day a week in Belfast. The post is funded until the end of June 2027.

The successful post holder will have excellent communications skills with the ability to provide accurate, often complex information in a clear and empathic way, offering advice over the phone and by email.
In this role you will receive several weeks of extensive specialist training based on the current legislation relevant to older people's rights and welfare, enabling you to offer an in-depth advice service to phone and email enquirers from across England. You will help them to understand and implement their legislative rights in areas such as community care, housing, income and benefits and many other issues related to later life.
This role offers hybrid working between home and either our Blackpool office, surrounded by excellent amenities or our Ashburton office, situated on the edge of the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. Our team work from the office at least 1 day a week, but that can be more if you prefer. You will need to live within an easily commutable distance of the office either by car or public transport, we suggest up to an hour's commute. During the probation and training period you will be required to come into the office at least 2 days a week.

About this exciting opportunity
Our successful candidate will provide operational management and effective leadership to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales.
We will count on you to set performance objectives and monitor progress – ensuring compliance with contractual performance indicators and quality improvement, and to monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance.
This key role will also involve managing partnerships, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders, and managing and coordinating allocated resources, including volunteers and spot purchase funds. Ensuring there is a safe and trusting working environment for staff and working closely with other St Giles Wise Managers to ensure consistency of approach and sharing of best practice are also key duties.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working in, or managing, services supporting challenging people
- Experience working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives
- Hold a relevant qualification, or be able to provide evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice

The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Research and Policy Officer to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week; alternatively, we will consider part-time hours on a Job Share basis. The role is hybrid and based in Newcastle upon Tyne or within a commutable distance to our national Headquarters in the city.
A part of NEA’s Policy and Advocacy Directorate, you will work within our highly effective social research team as we focus on a decade of delivery that will ensure those on the lowest incomes and living in the least efficient homes receive the support needed to ensure their health and wellbeing are protected, but also one that guarantees a fair energy future for all.
The successful candidate will work and collaborate on the design, development and delivery of social research and evaluation projects that support the charity’s strategic aims and policy advocacy priorities. As well as undertaking mixed methods social research that foregrounds the lived experience of households, they will develop research-user and stakeholder relationships and integrate evidence-based insights from across the charity’s work programmes to influence and have impact across multiple areas of social policy and practice.
Hybrid working is subject to necessary H&S and GDPR checks. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK.
What you will need to succeed
You will have demonstrable and applied experience in a social research role and hold a degree in a social science or related subject that included social research methods. You will be familiar and confident with both quantitative and qualitative methods and be highly motivated and purpose-driven, with a passion for research that leads to real-world impacts.
A compelling communicator you will be able to produce well-structured reports, and have excellent interpersonal skills, including experience of leading one-to-one and group interviews.
You will also have proven experience of analysis software, SPSS and Nvivo (or similar), and competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite/365 applications.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of NEA’s mission to eradicate fuel poverty.

A first of its kind, the Family Service at HMP Altcourse brings together creative interventions for men in custody, bespoke family counselling and daily practical support for families visiting a loved one. Leading this ground breaking service you will work alongside internal & external staff teams to reimagine what family support is within the criminal justice system, working to influence a culture shift at HMP Altcourse and the wider prison system.
SIG Safe Ground are experts in delivering arts-based, therapeutically informed group work, celebrating 30 years of working in prisons in 2025. We’re looking for an action-orientated individual who is passionate about developing creative, family-led ways of working to best support those in crisis. You’ll join a reflective, dynamic team of facilitators, counsellors and family liaison workers supporting those with experience of the criminal justice system to build a practical toolbox to cope and move forward positively.
We are seeking a Programmes Coordinator/Facilitator to join the Safe Ground team in HMP Altcourse, Liverpool and take the lead in the effective setup, delivery, and evaluation of Safe Ground's programmes. The role involves delivering arts-based interventions aimed at supporting participants in their personal development, family relationships, and rehabilitation. You will be based at HMP Altcourse, where you will develop collaborative partnerships with colleagues at the Visitors' Centre, as well as with key prison teams, wing staff, and, most importantly, the programme participants.
You will be required to undertake additional training and vetting as per the requirements of the prison.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm hours may vary dependent on needs of the service.

Our market leading COMPLY service is in high demand, and we are now seeking to grow our team with the appointment of an HR Consultant who will provide comprehensive and pragmatic HR advice, documentation, and compliance support to clients by phone, Teams / Zoom and email.
Position Overview
As an HR Consultant at Roots HR, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse client base, helping them navigate HR challenges and implement best practices. You will provide expert guidance in areas such as employee relations, compliance, HR strategy, and more. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment and wants to make a significant impact on our clients' success.
We need an experienced practitioner who has built their career in a well-structured environment and is now looking to take their first step into the consultancy arena. You will need a high level of initiative and the confidence and flexibility to meet the demands of an external client base, together with the drive and enthusiasm to work autonomously.
We envisage that the successful candidate will, along with other essential criteria:
• Ideally be qualified to Chartered MCIPD level or as a minimum, working towards that
• Have extensive experience of leading and managing HR projects and initiatives across a broad range of subject areas, and delivering robust generalist HR advice and guidance, including advising and coaching line managers and advising to a successful conclusion on a broad range of complex employee relations issues.
• Social sector experience or exposure, gained through employment, volunteering or governance role(s) with extensive and broad operational delivery of robust generalist HR advice and guidance.
• Have excellent communication skills and be extremely skilled in influencing at all levels
• Have excellent written skills, able to produce high-quality reports and other documentation.
• Be passionate about human resources and committed to updating their knowledge on a frequent basis.
