We’re a small but ambitious arts charity on an exciting journey. We are transforming a half-acre industrial heritage site - New River Head Clerkenwell - into the national centre for illustration and a home for Quentin Blake’s archive.
We’re seeking a brilliant person - or people - to join the team as Philanthropy Manager at an exciting time for the Centre with construction about to begin on our new home.
The Philanthropy Manager will secure gifts from Individuals, Trusts and Foundations in the range of £1,000-£50,000+, and will work closely with the Head of Development, Centre Director and Board to steward gifts at the £50,000+ level.
You will be a relationship-focused fundraiser with experience of face-to-face fundraising, excited by the opportunity to play a key part in launching a major new cultural institution. You will use your experience and key moments on the way to opening to refine, refresh and grow our established giving circles. You will also identify and develop new ways that individuals can support the Centre and our programming before we open our doors in February 2026.
You will be an inspiring and committed ambassador for the Centre and its mission, in person and in writing. You will also be a great team-player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues across the Centre to deliver a dynamic and creative programme of donor cultivation and stewardship. About the role
We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, transferrable customer service skills and experience of working with complex personal data to join our Volunteering Team.
The main purpose of this role is to ensure the best possible volunteer experience and that Young Lives vs Cancer holds and maintains appropriate records and data on our volunteers in line with volunteering best practice, safer recruitment and GDPR.
Accurate data is critical to the safe delivery of volunteering. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining volunteer records on relevant systems including database and our Learner Management System and overseeing volunteer recruitment and on-boarding ensuring compliance with minimum standards and reporting as appropriate.
This role interacts with stakeholders across the whole of the organisation and is often the first point of contact for volunteering process and procedures.
What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in our Role Details document.
- Supporting the full volunteering life-cycle including recruitment, on boarding, training, reward & recognition
- Managing and responding to volunteer enquires; escalating/signposting as appropriate and ensuring records are maintained
- Maintaining and developing the Volunteer Management Guidance Hub; ensuring colleagues are able to self-serve wherever possible
- Offering support and guidance, signposting to resources to facilitate a consistently excellent volunteer experience
- Working with key stakeholders including Income Generation, Governance & Assurance, Services and Insight to report against compliance and governance requirements
- Leading on streamlining and standardising current processes to enable sustainable and strategic growth
What do I need?
A great team ethic is really important in this role as you will maximise volunteer potential for Young Lives vs Cancer. This role sits within the ‘People & Culture’ directorate and we need someone with natural customer service skills and a drive for continuous improvement.
Experience within a similar role, or within the charity sector, would be great but we know that a lot of the most important skills in this role are easily transferable from another sector. We want the right person and we will invest in training the right candidate.

Job Description
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Administration
· Act as first point of call for artists regarding their visits to hospitals, overseeing sickness, cover and changes to their schedules
· Support artists with hospital administration and contracts
· Keep artists updated with changes in Theodora Children’s Charity’s policies
· Process changes to the Giggle Doctor schedule on our internal systems
· Liaise with hospitals and keep them up to date with information about their programme of Giggle Doctor visits
· Set up meetings with hospitals, artists and Theodora Foundation colleagues as required
· Book long-distance travel and hotels for artists for hospital visits and training events when required
· Support the Finance Manager and Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with collecting and filing timesheets, invoices and receipts for payment
Training and Events
· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with events, including booking rooms, resources and catering
· Attend training events for Giggle Doctors, setting up and packing down as needed
Impact and Programme Monitoring
· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with monitoring Trainee and Junior Giggle Doctor’s progress and keeping records of their observation notes
· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with data capture and record keeping

The person we are looking for will:

Introduction
Nightingale Hammerson cares for over 250 residents, tailoring our approaches within our residential, nursing, dementia, respite, and palliative care teams. As our Registered Manager, you will be essential in guiding and supporting all clinical, care, and leadership functions to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and the development of our services.
What will your typical day involve?
You will ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety. Your role involves leading the assessment, planning, and delivery of high-quality care for Residents and their Families, managing Household Managers, and ensuring 24/7 access to specialist nursing support. You will also drive the development of dementia care skills, implement the Nightingale Hammerson’s care governance framework, and oversee clinical supervision and training programs.
Your duties will include delivering safe, effective care, managing staffing, performance, and budgets, and ensuring effective communication within Nightingale Hammerson and with external agencies. Respecting Jewish cultural practices and supporting care service development and strategic planning are key aspects of your role.
In terms of clinical responsibilities, you'll balance administrative and clinical duties, manage care practices, and oversee medication and safeguarding procedures. You’ll work with medical teams and foster effective communication and mentorship within the multidisciplinary team.
You will also support practice development and ensure compliance with training requirements, facilitate student placements, lead clinical supervision, and stay updated with advancements in dementia care. Upholding professionalism, confidentiality, and non-discriminatory practices is essential, as is adherence to NGH policies and the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. Keeping the Director of Care informed and safeguarding confidential information are also crucial.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate must be a Registered General Nurse or RMN with a recognised management qualification or degree. Essential experience includes at least three years managing nursing services in an NHS or social care setting, or two years as a registered manager. You should also have experience in staff training, quality process management, managing diseases among older people, budget management, and project management. Experience at H/I grade level in the NHS, clinical audit, and dementia service development is required.
You must have up-to-date knowledge of clinical and social care for older people, relevant legislation, and nurse registration requirements. Key skills include strategic thinking, staff motivation, effective communication with residents and colleagues, and the ability to manage workloads and policies. Proficiency in care planning and computer use is also required.

Accountabilities
DAY TO DAY DELIVERY OF EVENTS
- Responsible for the overall administration of all student events, ensuring student communication is exceptional. Including event management (covering agenda creation and resource/activity development), student and partner communication/coordination, along with posting opportunities and roles in the weekly newsletter.
STUDENT MANAGEMENT & QUERY HANDLING
- Responsible for the relationship management of the students - including the ability to understand needs, resolve issues, and anticipating and creating a strong relationship on behalf of SEO-London

The Role

You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse. Do you have experience managing projects and working with volunteers? Join our Prison & Justice Team at Samaritans as a Senior Project Officer – Prison Support and help us deliver high-quality Listener schemes across prisons. This role is for 6 months, covering maternity leave, with a possible extension.
• 6 month fixed term contract
• £37,000-£40,000 FTE per annum plus benefits
• Part time (29 hours per week/0.83 FTE)

• Hybrid working: Linked to Ewell, Surrey office. A blend of working from home, the Ewell office and other locations for team meetings.
• In-person working: Meeting in person and working collaboratively are things we value. Mandated in-person meetings will be in place from Jan ’25. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. This is around 2 days per month.

As a Senior Project Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in our efforts to reduce suicide in prisons. You’ll be at the heart of our work, leading specific projects that enhance our Listener scheme and other prison-based programmes. You will collaborate closely with senior volunteers and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, provide vital support and advice, and engage in stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and deliver key projects to improve the Listener Scheme and other prison programs.
• Work closely with senior volunteers to ensure project buy-in and delivery.
• Provide first-line advice and support to Regional Prison Support Officers and volunteers.
• Liaise with external stakeholders and prison services.

Summary
The role of Chaplaincy Specialist is key to the spiritual growth of children and young people in the Growing Faith intersections of households, school and church. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic team player to support, connect, encourage, inform and develop chaplains and chaplaincy in schools and colleges and to be an advocate for educational chaplaincy across the church and education system in the Church of England. We will be particularly interested in someone who is able to continue working as a school or college chaplain alongside this role. Please note this role is focused on educational chaplaincy at primary, secondary, and further education levels, not on other forms of chaplaincy.
About the Growing Faith Foundation
The Growing Faith Foundation (GFF) started on 1 February 2022, building on the previous two years of Growing Faith work in dioceses. The Foundation is central to the Church's overall aim in its emerging Vision and Strategy to be 'Younger and More Diverse', such that we double the number of children and young people who are active disciples in the Church of England by 2030.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Listening to, advising, informing and connecting educational chaplains
- Contributing to existing networks for chaplains and working with the Networks Lead to develop and facilitate new ones where required.
- Encouraging more diversity within chaplaincy through a posture of awareness, by means of coaching, discernment and encouragement of potential chaplains of all ages especially from marginalised backgrounds.
- Encouraging vocations, young and adult, to chaplaincy
- Informing existing training and developing new training for and with chaplains

About you

- Strong verbal and written communication with skills - a persuasive and competent presenter and collaborative team player
- Personal attributes: A communicant member of the Church of England - this post is subject to an occupational requirement that the holder be a communicant Anglican under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.
