Purpose of Role
This is a new role within the Strategy and Governance team, a team which supports delivery of the Ramblers’ strategy through business planning, project management and impact measurement, and oversees the management of governance matters.
The purpose of the Project Manager role is to:
- Manage project teams to drive delivery of key initiatives in the business plan using best practice project management approaches. (80% of time)
- Provide a Project Management Office (PMO) function, helping to raise standards and rigour in project management across the organisation. (20% of time)
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle of key projects including:
- preparing a project mandate / business case and updating as required
- identifying and tracking a clear set of measurable outcomes / benefits
- establishing and overseeing appropriate project governance arrangements

The team is committed to cultivating a diverse pipeline of donors – individuals, corporations and foundations - and stewarding current donors whose contributions support AWF’s mission to ensure that wildlife and wild lands endure in modern Africa.This role is central to delivering AWF’s fundraising goals in the UK.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Donor Engagement UK, the Development Officer’s role is to provide back-end support to the UK fundraisers supporting the moves management process and smooth running of the virtual office, ensuring compliance with UK laws. The position will manage all elements of the virtual office, administration and reporting and support the team in managing portfolios of donors and prospects targeting mid-level and high net worth individuals, corporates and foundations.
Key Responsibilities
Administration
- Manages virtual offices and membership programme payment processing in collaboration with our data services team based in the US.
- Manages post where it relates to membership mailings. Manages orders for stationery and AWF materials needed to support mailings, events, and donor management (internal and external contracts).
- Support UK Director and Senior Manager, Donor Engagement in organising donor meetings.
- Manage travel and logistics for visiting AWF staff to the UK.
Portfolio growth and stewardship
- Works closely with the global research team to develop prospect lists for UK donors/partners – ensuring AWF is using the best possible tools for research and prospecting in the UK mindful of GDPR.

- Works with Data Services and the UK team to review portfolios and make sure amendments are made on Raiser Edge ( RE).

Role Purpose
GDI Hub are looking for a Research Assistant to support the team across its portfolio of projects with a diversity of clients, partners and stakeholders.
The Research Assistant role sits within GDI Hub’s Community Interest Company’s Research and Delivery Team, led by Mikaela Patrick, Head of Research and Delivery.
For a portfolio of clients (for example, Asian Development Bank, World Bank & IFC, Carbon Trust and Dubai Expo City), and projects under the UK Aid funded AT2030 programme cluster ‘Integrate - Strengthen the systems which make inclusion a reality’ (for example, Local production Systems of AT, Designing Inclusive Dignity Kits for Dissemination in Humanitarian Crises and Climate Resilient Cities), GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative, primary and secondary research
- Report academic research and grey literature publications with recommendations, blogs and insights reports
- Provide strategic and operational consultancy and technical assistance
- Design and deliver training and workshops, host and present speaker sessions
- Organise knowledge dissemination for high impact

Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience working or academic study in relevant fields (including working closely and collaboratively with disabled people and disabled people’s organisations is desirable), such as international disability inclusion, assistive and accessible technology, accessibility and inclusive design, disability innovation and global health; with willingness to grow expertise across these areas.
- Ideally have some experience (approx. 2-5 years) working on research projects and/or practice-focused research in a related field. This could be as part of further study, research or in a work capacity. Real work experience is desirable.
- A post graduate qualification or equivalent work experience, focused on an area relevant to disability inclusion, accessibility and / or assistive technology.
- Experience and confidence to independently conduct qualitative research and analysis, and literature reviews.
- Experienced in quantitative research and analysis with proficiency in designing and running quantitative data collection via surveys and analysing results to inform statistically representative and robust results. Confidence to independently conduct descriptive and correlational analysis using for e.g., ExCel, Python, R or SPSS.
- Independence in producing clear and insightful infographics and data visualisations.
- Excellent written communication skills, with ability to take on writing of reports using clear and compelling narrative; experience authoring lucid and informative insights and reporting.
- Excellent ability to communicate, work in a small dynamic team, and collaborate with individuals with diverse technical backgrounds and with external stakeholders.

About the Role
Our Pro Bono division delivers projects free-of-charge to charities and not-for-profit organisations within the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, with the aim of making a real difference to causes that our staff care about. We offer our full range of services on a pro bono basis, working collaboratively across our divisions and office locations to secure the right expertise to fulfil project briefs. Job Purpose
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator position sits within the Research, Evidence and Learning team and will make a key contribution to the quality of our programmes. The post holder will keep abreast of state-of-the-art M&E approaches to ensure the use of technically appropriate monitoring and evaluation models and information systems. The post holder will support the design of new programmes as well as provide technical advice and input to the monitoring, evaluation and learning of existing programmes. The Coordinator will also play a crucial role in ensuring that our external communications and policy work (at all levels) are informed by and accurately represent our evidence base.
Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead the development of proposals from a MEL perspective, including contributing to and leading on theories of change, and the development of MEL frameworks. Lead development of organisational tools and processes – e.g. developing reporting templates for project reports where not supplied by the donor Lead the development of quality programme standards and tools for their implementation. Advise on and support the building of an evidence base of impact. Support development of theories of change for development of strategic goals for Health Alliances. Support the development of indicators and monitoring of Alliance activity. Support the design and implementation of evaluations. Building MEL Capacity Provide hand-on technical assistance to teams in the monitoring, evaluation and review of existing projects. Support staff with development/use of MEL tools and processes. Provide input and assistance to MEL activities, including data collection and analysis, and evaluation design. Foster learning within programmes, through sharing lessons learnt, evaluation results as well as playing a key role in strengthening organisational learning. Ensure that monitoring visits are meaningful and capture data sought and feed into management decisions.
