Researchers have identified a considerable gendered difference in the approach to applying for new job roles, with women often choosing not to apply unless they meet 90% or more of the criteria, while men are likely to apply with a 60% match. To better address this, and the women in leadership gap in the UK, we encourage all applicants to consider whether they may be suitable for the role even if they do not meet 100% of the criteria.
