Facilitating effective connections and engagements that enable knowledge sharing and learning and specialist or peer support between partners, the national organisation, within regions and with outsourced support where appropriate.
To be a subject matter expert on allocated local partners, gathering intelligence and disseminating appropriately, advocating on behalf of the network by working collaboratively across the team and division to give an amplified voice to partners within the national organisation and governance.
This is a home-based role for UK based candidates only.
There is a requirement to travel to Network partners across the UK as and when required. This may include overnight stays.

Overall purpose
This is a key role that will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, Head of Public Engagement and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.
You will contribute to the implementation of our communications, engagement and fundraising strategies, ensuring that your work is anchored in our organisational and team strategic goals. You will also be closely involved in team planning, whether it’s inputting into our operational plan or sharing ideas for new campaigns.

The Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) works with affected communities to pursue innovative legal actions across borders to challenge states and other powerful actors involved in human rights violations and systemic injustice. Our actions address the most pressing instances of human rights concern and they fall within the following themes: War and occupation; accountability and supply chains; environmental and economic justice; and migration and border violence.
Since our establishment in 2016, we have developed legal strategies directly addressing human rights impacts in over 23 countries and territories. Our cases include the successful legal challenge against imports of cotton produced with forced labour in Xinjiang (East Turkistan) into the UK on behalf of World Uyghur Congress and the climate case against 32 European States before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, brought on behalf of six Portuguese youth-applicants.

As the Head of Strategic Communications at GLAN, you will spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies GLAN's mission and impact on a global scale.

This is an exciting time to join GLAN. Communications Strategy

Overall purpose
The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. About the Role:
As Communication and Advocacy Manager you will help to draw links between our work in country and the much needed action on international finance for climate resilience. You will be ready to engage strategically with influential governments and organisations to influence their policies and practices as they relate to water.
As a leader on communications you will be a critical part of the RWA’s global team — helping to link the different parts of the RWA together and co-ordinate with our partners around the world. You will ensure the team has a line of sight to the relevant policies and initiatives affecting the RWA’s work, and that there is clear, consistent and compelling messaging of the Accelerator through different communications channels. They will bring a fresh and inventive approach lead the communication of that thought leadership with key stakeholders. This will be vital to amplifying our messaging around global water security and climate adaptation. As this work is in its early stages, a flexible approach to the team’s work will be helpful, adjusting to changing priorities and progress on the ground.

Who you are (qualities/values)
- Passionate about ensuring that Now Teachers, schools, partners, and the wider education system can realise the full potential of career changers in education.
- Enjoys working in a fast paced and heavy deadline orientated environment.
- Can effectively manage their own workload, prioritise tasks, multi-task and stay organised.
- Have high-standards and a commitment to quality, with excellent attention to detail.
- Have the resourcefulness to make recommendations, start projects, problem solve and see them through to completion with the support of the team
- Build relationships and work effectively with others, communicating priorities and goals clearly with colleagues, and giving and receiving feedback to celebrate and improve work.
What you’ll need to succeed in this role (experience/qualifications etc)
- 2-3 years in a similar communications role.
- Familiar with common website management tools (CMS), social media and Adobe’s Creative Suite.
