Sitting in a high performing team of five the Workforce Development & Training Officers will work together to deliver all aspects of the team’s operational work which achieves the objective of growing the workforce in our specialties, clinical oncology and clinical radiology. In this broad role you will encompass supporting both trainees and their trainers through their programmes. You will be self-motivated, able to build your expertise in the relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks within which they operate and apply that expertise across a wide portfolio of activity. As new initiatives evolve and become business as usual, the work of operations will evolve.

What you’ll do:

• Provide tailored advice on all matters that might affect a trainee’s status and training time using expertise in the regulatory frameworks associated with specialty training in the UK.
• Proactively work with WDTO colleagues to ensure trainees and trainers are adequately supported.
• Review and prepare CESR and MTI applications for assessment by the specialist committee.
• Manage and deliver the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) recommendation process.
• Provide a timely, customer-focussed and responsive service.

• Detailed understanding (or the ability to rapidly acquire it) of UK legislation and GMC regulations and procedures in relation to entry to GMC registers and the right to work in the UK.
• Ability to understand, interpret and advise on legislation, external processes and complex documentation.

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. This includes conducting follow-ups and answering queries (by phone, email and in person) from both current and prospective participants on the programmes being delivered by High Trees. They will also be responsible for the preparation of finance related performance evidence for monthly/quarterly submission.

The successful applicant will have experience of providing efficient administrative support, be very organised and able to work to deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. As Head of Development, you will be a key member of a small team. • Manage and attend an annual series of fundraising events, from relaxed open days to formal receptions

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Experience of securing 5- and 6-figure grants from a range of trust, statutory and/or individual sources

• An outgoing, approachable, confident and professional manner in dealing with donors, prospects and other stakeholders

Main duties

Programme Support 

• Provide support across Causeway's broad portfolio of programmes, such as online mentoring, insight days, work experience weeks and university and employer outreach schemes

• Look after our shared inboxes and share queries with relevant team members

• Proactively identify processes for improvement across the Supporter Experience & Operations Team to deliver efficiencies and improve the effectiveness of internal procedures 

• Support campaign managers and other colleagues with any new or existing projects relating to fundraising operations, working closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring requirements are clear and fully documented

Working with business development colleagues and delivery staff  you will help to identify income sources, approach funders and partners, develop and write bids, and contribute towards the annual income of the Trust.

Salary range : £26,182 - £30,832 pro rata (depending on relevant experience)
Term: Min 22.5 hours – Max 25 hours per week, permanent
Location:  East of England, with opportunities for home working

In this role, you will monitor the external funding environment to identify suitable sources of charitable trust and foundation funding and tender opportunities for projects and programmes of activity. You will use your communication skills to write high quality, persuasive copy that brings the charities work to life for potential funders, such as charitable trusts, BIG lottery, local authorities and central government.  In return we offer a supportive working environment, lots of variety in your work and the opportunity to develop your skills and professional knowledge.

Ideally, you will have experience of successful grant funding from Trusts, foundations, lottery distributors or similar, together with demonstrable experience of undertaking high quality research. World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity, so that we can empower people to make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Director who will be responsible for the work of the charity within the UK. The Director will be the strategic and day to day leader of the UK organisation and will also work hands-on not only with his/her direct reports but also all teams in the office. We are seeking a leader who can take the UK charity’s fundraising to new heights; thus, this is a particularly important focus area.

The role will be directly overseeing the World Cancer Research Fund UK’s Fundraising and Health Information Departments. You will report to the CEO and work in partnership with the UK CEO and other senior executives in updating and implementing the organisation’s strategy and objectives. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of directing and leading a similar sized UK philanthropic organisation (or a fundraising team within a larger charity), including writing and implementing strategies and evaluating outcomes. You will have proven experience of delivering fundraising objectives as well as a strong track record in communications and up to date knowledge of social media and digital strategies. Substantial experience of management of teams at both strategic and tactical level including developing skills, abilities, performance management and confidence in staff is required as are high level speaking skills.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, this position provides leadership and support to the wider team, and line management of the Finance & Corporate Services Officer. Other duties include monthly payroll, monthly management accounts and reports, annual budget and audit, and supporting our team with HR, ICT and office requirements.

You will be an experienced senior manager with at least 4-5 years of experience in finance within the charity sector and providing back-office support. An accountancy qualification is essential, as is knowledge of SORP.

You will be highly organised, able to work as part of our small team as well as on your own initiative, have a methodical and collaborative approach, and a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude.
