About Us
Your Employment Settlement Service (YESS) is a legal advice charity and a company limited by guarantee. Established in 2014, we provide free and affordable employment law advice to people and organisations who cannot source this elsewhere. We do not litigate; our focus is on maintaining working relationships where possible or reaching negotiated agreements where it is not. We are approachable, collaborative, and constructive. Aggressive or adversarial styles have no place at YESS.
As well as advice work, we also have a growing mediation practice. We contribute to many working groups and panels to represent the needs of lower paid and vulnerable workers in the development of legal advice provision and employment law.
Typically, 10-20% of our work is grant funded, benefiting clients on low or no income (although this is currently under 10%). A small amount comes from donations. The remainder comes from paying clients.
The Role
As CEO, you will lead our dedicated team of lawyers and support staff, oversee the delivery of our strategic goals, and act as the public face of the charity. You will work with and advise the Board of Trustees, in relation to YESS’s activities, performance and strategic direction. You will raise awareness of our approach and activities, to bring in new work and funding, and contribute to the public discourse on employment relations and employment law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of YESS’s charitable objects particularly the delivery of free and affordable advice services to lower paid and vulnerable individuals.
- Provide leadership to a small hybrid-working team, ensuring effective working supported by appropriate resources and supervision.
- Maintain and develop sources of revenue-generating legal work.
- Identify and secure funding from trusts, foundations, and donors.
- Strategically manage YESS’s finances.
- Ensure processes are in place for the effective engagement, motivation, performance management and support of staff, consultants, and volunteers.
About You
We are looking for someone who is experienced in the delivery of legal advice services with strong leadership experience, ideally gained in the charity sector. You may be a currently practising employment lawyer, but this is not imperative as no client work is required.
Essential attributes:
- Experience in the delivery of revenue-generating employment legal advice services gained in charity and/or private practice settings (in the capacity as either a qualified lawyer or as someone who has managed/directed qualified lawyers in the delivery of such advice).
- Commitment to YESS’s fundamental principle of resolving workplace disputes without litigation.
- Experience of leadership and strategy development.
- Excellent at relationship-building and communication, with proven networking skills.
- A desire to spread awareness of YESS’s work and influence policy development in employment relations and employment law.
- Experience in organisational growth and change management.
- Understanding of finance including budgets and cashflow.
- Commitment to implementing technology to make the most of YESS’s limited resources.
Desirable attributes:
- Fundraising and donor management experience
- Administration of grants and evaluating project outcomes
- Understanding of charity finance
- Understanding of finance in a legal services context, including work in progress, utilisation and lock up.

Employer partnerships at Unifrog
Unifrog provides employers with a comprehensive talent attraction and development offering, with a holistic approach to our partnerships. The Employer Partnerships team brings local and international employers closer to our Unifrog schools, students and teachers. We focus on three key areas:

The role and your key responsibilities
As Employer Partnerships Manager, your role is to grow our employer partner numbers and support our existing employer partners to get the most out of their partnership with us. A fundamental element of our work with employers is to make sure they’re adding genuine value to our student, teacher and parent community.

About The Murray Parish Trust
Children with a serious illness are three times more likely to struggle with their mental health. Their childhoods are overshadowed by coming to terms with diagnosis, hospital stays, treatment, feeling different from friends or managing how their illness affects daily life. Many of them struggle with severe anxiety and depression, experiencing isolation and trauma during their journey. These children are at much higher risk of long-term mental health difficulties that are more complex and difficult to treat, on top of living with often complex medical needs.
Actors Jim Murray and Sarah Parish’s first daughter, Ella-Jayne, was born with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome in 2009 and spent half her short life in paediatric intensive care, Southampton Children’s Hospital. Ella-Jayne died, at home, just eight months old. After they recovered from the immediate horror, Jim and Sarah felt an overwhelming drive to help other children and families and founded The Murray Parish Trust in 2014. They were awarded MBE’s in the King’s New Years Honours 2025 for services to seriously ill children and their families.
Our charity delivers projects that support the mental health of seriously ill children and their families. We improve access to specialist, imaginative and empowering support, at the earliest possible moment, to prevent long-term mental health difficulties. We do this by delivering a vast range of projects in children’s hospitals, hospices and other health or community settings across the UK. These include drama, dance, art, nature and music therapy; bereavement and mortuary suites, distraction equipment that reduces anxiety, sanctuary and quiet rooms; sibling support; counselling and therapy rooms; and psychological support for children/family members.
The role - Head of Public Fundraising and Operations
This is an exciting new chapter for The Murray Parish Trust. Our new Head of Public Fundraising and Operations will work closely with the Board of Trustees and our Head of Philanthropy and Projects to scale our impact and expand reach nationwide. They will play a pivotal role in leading operations and shaping the charity’s future, as well as leading on growing income from community, corporate, individual fundraising, which have been identified as strategic fundraising priorities.
We anticipate time will be split roughly equally between leading public fundraising and operational management. There is some freelance support with marketing, corporate and community fundraising, and volunteer coordination, plus trustee support with events; there is scope to expand the team as income grows. This role will support their work as well as personally deliver public fundraising activity, taking sole responsibility for individual giving and legacies.

Key responsibilities
Fundraising: Work alongside with the Head of Philanthropy and Projects to implement the fundraising strategy, including:
- Delivery of the specific fundraising activity delegated to this role to grow income year on year (individuals, community, corporate, legacies, events), supported by the work of freelancers.
- Strategic oversight of all public fundraising including monitoring, evaluating and reporting to the Board.

- Ensure compliance with the latest regulatory requirements and sector best practice.
- Coordinate and manage policy, procedure, risk management and wider charity administration.
- Provide support for financial management; incl. outsourced book keeping/monthly management accounts; working with accountants to ensure timely production of the Annual Report and Financial Statements
- Work closely with Board members with specific lead responsibility, incl. with the Treasurer in the production of cashflow and other financial reports.
- Supported by the volunteer coordinator (freelance), manage and develop a network of volunteers and ambassadors (e.g. talks, photo calls, events, collection tins, admin, research).
- Act as Secretary to the Board; including statutory filing, coordinating quarterly meetings and taking minutes, compiling/circulating Board papers, diarising other meetings and communication as needed.
- Represent the charity externally with diverse stakeholders.
- Responsible for the effective management and leadership of the public fundraising and operations team.

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Bristol City Robins Foundation Youth Mentor.
This is a 1-year fixed-term contract with a view to an extension in 2026.
Our youth mentor will work with young people in South Bristol and beyond. The role will see trusting relationships built between known young people in the community, support the young people, and help guide them toward positive provision or employment. The focus will be on the number of positive hours these young people can spend with their mentors and away from negative influences in their lives.
Your main responsibilities:
- Delivery of targeted 1-2-1 work with young people.

- An understanding of the issues young people face, specifically in relation to young people in areas of deprivation.

In the UK, our work is best described as being part consultancy and part think tank. Our work is regularly covered in the British press and media and we’ve developed a series of partnerships with broadcasters and newspapers to deliver top-quality research insights. In the 2024 General Election period, we were among Britain’s most accurate pollsters and used our focus group research to put people and public opinion at the centre of coverage of the election campaign.
Through our consultancy, More in Common has also supported dozens of partners with insights and strategic communications support. We’ve helped national institutions such as the BBC, British Library and National Trust to better understand their audiences, we’ve helped partners in government and civil society with the set-up and delivery of the Homes for Ukraine scheme, and we’ve supported a range of partners to test their manifesto ideas from the National Farmers Union to Rethink Mental Illness among many others.

About this role
More in Common is seeking a full-time Associate Director to start work in Spring 2025 as we grow our team and advance our mission of building a more united and inclusive UK, where all people feel respected and better understood, and share a sense of belonging. More in Common UK is a small team with a start-up culture where everyone is expected to execute a range of responsibilities. The roleholder will be based in the London office Monday-Thursday with Friday in the office or working remotely.
The Associate Director, Strategy and Development will be a member of More in Common UK’s management team and will oversee fundraising, operations and More in Common’s strategic communications projects for partners as well as deputising for the UK Director.
The specific responsibilities of the role are:
Fundraising and Development
- Oversee and lead More in Common’s UK business development and fundraising activity against agreed budgets
- Manage More in Common’s consulting arm, identifying opportunities for new partnerships, leading pitches and managing client relationships
- Inculcate a programme of ‘new business’ across the More in Common team.
- Oversee More in Common’s programme of events and partner engagement, including our Party Conference events.
- Hold responsibility for More in Common’s UK brand and marketing activities
- Work with More in Common’s UK Finance team to develop and manage strong financial management systems and processes
- Design and support the creation of new and innovative additions to More in Common’s UK offer
Management and oversight
- With the Associate Director, team manage More in Common UK’s work programme and oversee the activity of junior staff
- Ensure that More in Common’s UK outputs are of the highest quality and genuinely lead to impact in line with our mission
- Deputise for the UK Director in meetings with clients, funders and with global colleagues along with the Associate Director of Research and Insights
- With the UK Director and Associate Director of Research and Insights, help to design the strategy for the UK team’s work
Strategic Communications
- Lead strategic communications projects across the UK team’s programme of work for both clients and partners
- Help More in Common’s partners and clients to use our insights to craft and deliver impactful communications and outreach strategies
- Support research staff to turn More in Common’s public opinion insights into compelling narratives and stories for partners
- Work closely with More in Common’s communications consultants to maximise opportunities for dissemination of the UK team’s work

Qualifications and experience

- A track record of delivering high quality outputs for clients, members, partners and/or funders
- Experience of leading revenue generating client consultancy or membership programmes
- Experience of grant/tender writing, pitching and reporting
- Experience of translating research and insight into innovative products or training programmes for a range of partners
- The ability to write well and at pace for a range of audiences
- An understanding of how to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and to use that data to tell a compelling story
- Experience of developing light-touch processes for financial and project management and for quality control
- Experience of managing junior staff, including performance management
Compensation
£65,000 - £80,000 and excellent benefits along with generous annual leave policy. Personal learning and growth budget.
