Job Title: Systems Analyst (Salesforce) 

Salary: £43,000   

Contract Type: Permanent, ideally, full-time (35 hours per week) although part-time or flexible hours may be considered 

Working location: Home based. The post holder should expect to come into the London based office a maximum of three days per quarter.

The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.    

When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.   

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.    

Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.   

JOB PURPOSE  

We are seeking a Salesforce expert who is looking for an exciting opportunity to play an instrumental part in the implementation and ongoing development of Magic Breakfast’s technology and data transformation. In this multi-faceted position, you’ll lead on shaping scalable solutions that will enhance operational efficiency and enable accurate data-driven decision making. 

Your expertise will be critical in shaping how the organisation gathers, analyses and utilises data to automate workflows, generate reports and dashboards, and ultimately achieve our strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:   

System analysis and development

• Lead on the development and optimisation of the organisation’s Salesforce environment to meet evolving business needs and enhance operational efficiency 

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify requirements and translate them into scalable Salesforce solutions 

• Provide expert advice and guidance to influence and shape solutions that effectively handle data collection, data aggregation, workflow automation, and reports utilising Salesforce

• Support the integration of Salesforce with other systems in the organisation’s infrastructure (for example, Business Central, FormAssembly, fundraising platforms etc.) 

• Contribute to the delivery of business process automation roadmap to support organisational objectives

• Gather and analyse information and feedback to support future development phases of the solution. 

System administration and user support 

• Provide support for core services by handling incidents, undertaking investigation, working with colleagues to confirm bugs and providing clear and timely communication with users; triaging points for escalation to the Systems and Data Manager 

• Create and maintain a comprehensive Salesforce backlog, prioritising enhancements, bug fixes, and feature requests while ensuring effective management of technical debt to maintain system health and scalability

• Lead contact for day-to-day relationship with external Salesforce support partner; escalating to the Systems and Data Manager where necessary

• Monitoring and governing day to day user activity 

• Reporting on platform health and user engagement 

• Keep up to date with technological advancements and proactively make suggestions for improvements

• Create technical documentation and deliver training across various levels of Magic Breakfast.

• Candidates will be expected to have experience and preferably Salesforce Administration qualifications with demonstrable experience in: 

• developing Salesforce automations (Flow) with demonstrable impact on improving operational efficiencies and business processes 

• translating business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions 

• working with API endpoints and of data mapping 

• creating process documentation and training material 

• delivering demonstrable benefits to organisations through Salesforce development

The Finance and Operations Officer will provide general support to the Head of Finance and Operations across the following areas: 

Office Management

• Managing day-to-day relationship with landlord

• Ensuring office meets all health & safety requirements

• Managing purchases of stationery and office equipment 

• Booking meeting rooms

• Organising catering for internal meetings 

• Supporting with new office search and move to new premises

• Liaising with utility, cleaning and security providers in new premises if required

Human Resources

• Liaising with the external HR providers regarding employee documents

• Maintaining  employee personnel records ensuring that all annual leave and sick leave is recorded correctly

• Assisting in the recruitment of new posts

• Onboarding and welcoming new employees, including ensuring newcomers have the necessary IT and office equipment and access to the required IT systems 

• Coordinate annual staff surveys and collate responses

Operations

• Assisting the CEO and the wider team with administrative tasks

• Liaising with our external IT providers to ensuring all IT equipment is functioning and replaced when required

Governance

• Organising Trustee meetings

Finance

• Processing invoices and expenses and coordinating twice monthly payment runs

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

Terms and Conditions

• Location: Money and Mental Health’s central London office for at least 2 days per week with option for home working the rest of the time. The office is wheelchair accessible.

• Hours: 3 to 4 days (22.5 to 30 hours) a week. The charity has a flexible working policy with core hours of 10am - 3pm and remaining contracted hours distributed throughout the week flexibly. We are open to discussing other flexible arrangements, such as accommodating school runs.

• Holidays: 28 days p.a. (including 3 days of annual leave between Christmas and New Year when the office is closed) plus bank holidays, adjusted for the part-time nature of this post and therefore calculated on a pro rata basis.

AKF(UK) Senior Partnerships Managers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying and cultivating new funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. They engage with European, Asian and North American government and foundation donors to mobilise resources for ten multi-sector profit and not-for-profit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. In addition, Senior Partnership Managers are responsible for reporting and donor relations on a portfolio of select grants implementing across AKDN themes and geographies in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners. This role will also include line management responsibilities. 

Resource Mobilisation

• Support the Partnerships team to broker and cultivate new relationships and strengthen existing ones with institutional (bilateral and multilateral) and foundations donors

• Lead the development and review of concept notes and proposals (solicited and unsolicited), including logical frameworks and budgets, in close coordination with the Global Programme Team (GPT) and country teams.

• Develop and contribute to positioning pieces and communication materials (e.g. presentations, narrative overviews) to enable regular and effective engagement with donors

• When needed, provide direct hands-on support at country level in design of concept notes, proposals, and budgets and conduct donor or field visits to support discussions with new and existing donors/partners.

• Coordinate processes of contracting and negotiation, engaging relevant stakeholders, and ensuring contracts ‘get over the line’ in a timely and efficient way.

• Contribute to management systems, such as the Award Information Management System (AIMS).

Donor engagement and positioning

• Research, source relevant information, and perform analysis of market trends on new donors, peer organisations, and funding opportunities to identify potential funding and partnering matches for AKF and AKDN priorities.

• Develop positioning materials (e.g. presentations, capability statements, briefs, talking points), collaborating with communications teams to enable effective donor engagement.

• Engage with new and existing donors and partners to identify solicited and unsolicited funding opportunities.

• Guide teams to make informed, effective decisions on which opportunities to pursue (including ‘Go No-Go’ requests).

• Identify, cultivate, and pre-position with partner organisations to form or join consortia focused funding bids.

• Conduct due diligence on new partners in coordination with finance and partnerships teams.

Grants management

• Manage grants through regular coordination with relevant AKDN agencies/country units and the finance department to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget. Proactively support the resolution of challenges as they arise.

• Support the preparation, review and feedback process on donor reports to ensure reports comply with donor requirements and are produced on time and to a high standard.

• Be an interface with donors and communicate on a regular basis about the implementation of on-going grants to maintain a solid relationship and to address queries or challenges effectively. 

Networking and building public awareness

• Participate and actively engage in relevant networking events/conferences to build awareness of AKF/AKDN with the UK and European public more broadly.

• Interface with the Communications team to identify opportunities and support the planning of events either directly targeting or planned jointly with AKF’s institutional donors (e.g., FCDO, EC).

Leadership and People Management

• Play a leadership role in the unit by setting the example of consistently high standards

• Work with the Partnerships Officers to effectively manage grants and to develop and improve quality of concept notes and proposals

• Filter the team and unit's documents ensuring improvements in standards of writing, presentation, content and context.

Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Directors or Regional Director for Europe & Asia.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field highly preferable

Skills

• Strong level of fluency in French is highly desirable

• At least a total of 6 years of professional experience with a minimum of 4 years working in international organisations (preferably, mid to large NGOs), including field-level implementation or management.

• Experience line managing or mentoring staff is highly desirable

• Experience in resource mobilisation and developing relationships, including direct experience with European (EU/EC, Germany, Switzerland, UK) or Asian donors. Experience with North American (USAID, GAC) donors highly desirable

• Experience in developing and writing complex proposals and arguments, business plans/cases, concept papers, briefs, executive summaries, as well as coordinating multiple inputs from a variety of sources, and simultaneously managing a variety of relationships

• Proven experience of managing relationships in complex organisations with numerous stakeholders

What the job involves

We're looking for a Proposition Development Manager to join a newly created team within our Fundraising directorate. The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations. 

As the Proposition Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in this team, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. You'll take the lead in developing the Appeal case for support, and crafting funding propositions. Collaborating closely with our high-value fundraisers, you'll develop bespoke funding propositions ranging from six to seven figures, ensuring they resonate with potential donors. 

Your expertise will be central in guiding our high-value teams on creating impactful funding proposals, supported by consistent access to organisational priorities and plans. You'll also establish an 'Information Bank' of materials to support fundraising efforts. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, you'll maintain the integrity of our data records in alignment with GDPR and organisational policies.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a fundraiser who understands high value fundraising. You’ll have experience in building compelling cases for support, bids and partnership concepts with major donors, companies, and potentially grant funders. Working in collaboration with our high value fundraisers, Research and Support and Influencing teams to create engaging and bespoke propositions. 

You’ll be an excellent communicator, often translating complex and technical information to a range of audiences and stakeholders in multiple formats (e.g. proposals, presentations or web copy). Your exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills will enable you to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, non negotiable and dependent on experience.
Location: This is a remote role, with a requirement to attend the UK Covid 19 Inquiry as frequently as possible when it is sitting, and on key days such as the opening of Modules or when high profile witnesses are called.

Press Officer Responsibilities:

• Manage our press officer so that we are able to respond to press inquiries in a timely and effective manner. We are lucky enough to manage a very busy press office, so strong organisational skills are required.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of this job is to provide energy efficiency advice and casework-level support to individuals and families living in low-income households and facing fuel poverty. The primary goals of the project are:

1. Raise Awareness & Energy Savings - Educate vulnerable local communities, who may lack prior knowledge, about strategies for reducing energy costs and achieving long-term energy and financial savings. The aim is to empower individuals with practical energy-saving techniques and encourage grassroots peer learning within these communities to help spread survival strategies.

2. Energy Advice & Fuel Debt Support - Offer detailed guidance on energy management, including addressing fuel debt issues, to help clients understand their fuel usage in the context of their overall financial situation. This includes enabling individuals to make informed decisions about energy consumption and related financial matters.

3. Assist Vulnerable Communities in Energy Crisis - Equip particularly vulnerable households with the skills necessary to cope with the growing crisis in household energy debt, as consumption rises sharply. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Holistic Client Assessment and Support - conduct detailed confidential interviews with clients, applying a holistic approach to assess their needs for advice and support.
2. Compliance and Quality Standards - Provide energy efficiency advice and casework support that adheres to the Advice Quality Standard (AQS).
3. Comply with AQS case management and case recording procedures and processes, contributing to the delivery of high-quality advice and casework, and the collection and reporting of statistical data as required to enable accurate evaluation of the impact of the service and reporting to funders.
4. To be responsible for delivering high-quality one-to-one advice and casework on energy efficiency - targeting our food hub participants and other local residents who are on low income. 
5. To raise awareness and assist people without any previous awareness/knowledge of how to save on energy costs and develop long-term energy and monetary savings within their homes.
6. To facilitate and deliver monthly Switching Off Poverty workshops/talks/group sessions about fuel poverty; how to identify at-risk local residents; what tools/assistance is available; and how to impart help and guidance following the end of the programme - these workshops aim to enable participants to access tools and develop the new skills required to help them monitor, track, record, and understand their household fuel use and bills.
7. Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels; Face-To-Face, Telephone, Teams/Zoom, WhatsApp as well as via email/letter.
8. To ensure that the service offered is tailored to the needs of clients and takes into account the particular needs of each individual, including issues around communication, understanding, and vulnerability.
9. Through clear communication and consultation, ensure that clients remain involved in resolving their energy debt, benefit, and money management issues and are kept informed on the progress of their case throughout our work with them.
10. To provide advice and support around energy efficiency and money management; income maximisation; budgeting; saving; debt and understanding and accessing appropriate financial products.
11. To effectively use the database system (Lamplight) to organise and manage client support and to take on issues (as cases) for the client that may have issues with billing and metering problems. Take up complaints and provide grant-assisted schemes. All work is to follow the file LHP’s management procedure. 
12. To be responsible for the delivery of an agreed annual project plan, meeting targets and milestones for the Energy Efficiency advice service.

In order to help achieve this goal, AFH is recruiting an Advocacy & Policy Manager, where the successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Communications, manage and strengthen AFH’s advocacy campaigns, and develop and build networks to support our advocacy efforts. Your accountabilities as our Advocacy & Policy Manager will include the following:

Building external relations

• Lead on creating and executing an Advocacy strategy and relationship-building plan to ensure AFH is well connected and respected amongst key stakeholders including politicians, policy makers, governing bodies, other NGOs, etc. Regularly seek new opportunities to enhance external relations.
• Represent AFH in advocacy meetings, humanitarian coordination and other forums, conferences, events, and working groups, leading as many as possible.

• Manage events from conception to completion - delivering events to the highest standard to meet their objectives of success – quality and cost effectiveness
• Attend the Meetings and Events Committee, optimising meetings including helping set the agendas, leading discussions, writing minutes, liaising with the Chair
• Assist to identify, appoint, and manage Scientific Chairs, Committees, and Sub Committees to secure event speakers, secure attendees and sponsors.
• Overall management of the income being delivered from ticket sales, sponsorship and other income streams linked to meetings and events, with support from line manager and CEO
• Responsible for the income and expenditure budgets and monthly reforecasts for our meetings and events, and ensuring accurate financial record keeping
• Support and train colleagues to run meetings and events online.
• Work with the team to develop all event materials – physical and digital
• Work with CEO and Senior Manager to identify sponsors, develop proposals and negotiate income
• Produce comprehensive event briefings for speakers, team, and Board
• Support and attend events, sometimes out of office hours, in and out of the UK
• Evaluate and report on the success of each event and consider areas of improvement
• Ensure up to date event information is publicised on the website and on other RSTMH channels
• Work with the team at RSTMH to develop and implement a marketing plan for events
• Manage all event enquiries, from external and internal stakeholders
• Liaise with and manage relationships with event stakeholders internally and externally, including suppliers, members, committees, Board, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors
• Work with the Membership Manager to maximise the engagement of event attendees in RSTMH’s work, and conversion of events attendees to be members
• Develop processes to ensure we capture all data from events, through our CRM
• Ensure efficient processes exist for ticket sales, paying expenses and invoices and all other aspects of RSTMH meetings and events.

Person specification

• Degree level education or relevant proven work experience
• At least 3 years proven track record of managing and delivering in person and online events including selecting and negotiating agreements with suppliers, drawing up cost and income budgets, delivering events and monitoring and evaluating their success
• Strong experience of working with a CRM system
• Experience of running online events, with knowledge of variety of platforms
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Evidence of working with events committees and managing suppliers to deliver events
• Strong budget management experience including forecasting, and planning
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach and mind-set
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team and use your fundraising experience to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children and families. As Head of Fundraising, you will lead a team of two fundraisers to develop relationships and generate income from charitable trusts, statutory sources, individuals, schools and parishes.

This is a diverse and rewarding role where you can work closely with our project teams and see the direct impact of your efforts. The fundraising team is also actively involved in service delivery and this role will be instrumental in helping to distribute gifts and food to hundreds of disadvantaged families at Christmas, as well as helping families in crisis via our Crisis Funds.

You will also play an important role in the senior management team, helping to shape the charity’s overall strategic direction and ensure that many more disadvantaged children and families can access the support they need and have hope of a better future.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with at least four years’ fundraising experience who is keen to use their skills to help CCS grow our income. A proactive and flexible approach is also a must! The successful candidate will:

• Have a proven track record of securing income in excess of £300,000 p.a.
• Have experience of managing a team
• Be an effective communicator
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and supporters.
