CBM UK’s Disability Inclusion Advisor will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and delivering disability inclusion technical advice to mainstream organisations and key stakeholders in the UK. - Work with UK and Global colleagues to generate new business in order to build the technical advisory function of the organisation through: securing and delivering fee for service advisory work in UK, technical support to accessing funding for delivery by other advisory teams and partners, and co-delivery on wider IAG network advisory projects.
- Lead on stakeholder and partnership management to maintain excellent servicing of advisory clients.
- Ensure appropriate systems and processes are in place, and contract outputs are delivered to a high standard for effective operational delivery.
- Contribute to the evidence and MEAL base for disability inclusive practice.
- Contribute to the peer learning approach of the wider IAG network and strengthen the advisory capacity of the CBM UK team.

The demand for the service in light of the cost of living crisis has increased substantially over recent years and we are looking to expand our team.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Debt Adviser who has a proven track record in helping and assisting clients facing financial difficulties and providing creative solutions to help alleviate their challenges in a sensitive and supportive role. They will have an awareness of having successfully provided debt advice in a regulated environment. They will have experience of supporting and supervising a team, and monitoring their performance to ensure this remains in line with internal and external requirements.
The successful candidate would be expected to work a hybrid model of delivery - in an office environment, outreach sessions as well as home based. They would be expected to provide advice via omni-channels such as face to face, telephone and email advice.
Main Responsibilities:
● Provide casework covering the full range of debt - Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.
● Researching and exploring options and implications so that those accessing our service can make informed decisions
● Ensuring income maximisation through the appropriate take up of income, including those relating to water charges, benefits, tax and housing
● Providing in-depth quality advice and on-going casework, including acting for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels
● Maintaining detailed case records, ensuring that all work meets all auditing and quality standards and the requirements of the funder

About the role:

About BDCA: BDCA is a dynamic community-led charity that has been serving the residents of the London Borough of Newham since 1998. Our motto is, “working together to change lives and transform our community” and over the past two decades we renovated four previously dead, disused spaces into lively local hubs. Job Aim:To work with the Youth Project Coordinator to provide a fun, engaging and exciting programme of activities for young people across the economically disadvantaged but beautifully diverse E6 area within the London Borough of Newham. You will assist in delivering against the partnerships successful EMPOWER youth services commissioning bid to Newham Council. The service provides 10 weekly universal activities across East Ham over 49 weeks of the year for young people aged 9-19 including:
- Three outdoor MUGA sports sessions per week.
- Three youth hub session per week which includes branched off projects such as Junior Gym, screen acting, Muay Thai, healthy cookery sessions, calming crafts and sports.
- EKO Pathways after school delivery sessions, helping to support children with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.

DFN Project SEARCH is delivering transformative change, supporting, and helping young people with learning disabilities and autism into the world of work. Nationally only 4.8% of people with special educational needs and disabilities gain permanent paid employment in the UK yet 70 percent of DFN Project SEARCH graduates gain jobs, 60 percent of them achieving full-time permanent roles.
You will be required to improve the quality and outcomes of existing DFN Project SEARCH programmes across a geographical area. This is with the aim of supporting the organisations to ensure that every intern has the best possible chance to gain full-time paid employment. The focus of this role is to ensure continuous improvement across all sites, relating to model fidelity and outcomes. This relates particularly to sites achieving less than 60% employment outcomes.
Our model means that our regional Programme Specialists form new partnerships and develop new DFN Project SEARCH sites, supporting them through to year one of delivery. These sites will then be passed to our Programme Impact Co-ordinator team where you will then be required to continue to nurture these strong partnerships and provide ongoing training and support to colleagues within your region. This is an excitign opportunity to lead our Youth Work programme and Day Centre provision at NHYC. This position is a six-month fixed-term contract to cover a staff member going on sabbatical. The contract is planned to run from February-August 2025. Fundraising is still a relatively new activity for DFN Project SEARCH and this role presents the opportunity to play a key part in its expansion to support the further growth of the charity and enable young adults with a learning disability to lead healthier, happier, and more independent lives.
This role will support the Director of Development in implementing DFN Project SEARCH’s fundraising strategy. To date the strategy has focused on securing a small number of larger gifts from philanthropic sources, such as trusts and foundations. We are now evolving the strategy to include growing income from high-net-worth individuals, companies, and individual giving.
This role will lead on the development and implementation of the strategy to secure income from high-net-worth individuals (between five and potentially seven figures) and will also work with the Director of Development and the Development Officer on securing income from, and stewarding, trusts, foundations, and statutory funders. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team there is also the opportunity to input to the wider strategy and development of the charity and support the Director of Development in their role as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
The team is currently made up of the Director of Development, Corporate Partnership Manager (reporting to the Director of Development), and the Development Officer (reporting to this new role).
