You will be adept at using data and insight to identify potential areas of growth and be a proactive self-starter, responsible for the complete event cycle of the events you manage and be comfortable analysing performance and making recommendations for change where necessary.

THIS IS A FREELANCE POSITION, 2 - 3 DAYS A MONTH

This is an exciting opportunity for a an experienced finance professional with charity accounting level knowledge to support the SAT-7 UK Finance Department, ensuring that our financial processes are robust, supporting our month end sign off process and the annual financial audit process. The role would be a regular 2 - 3 days per month with additional days required during December, January and February to support the audit process.  Those applying should be based in the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the review and sign off of all financial transaction processes, ensuring controls and risk management procedures are in place and are adhered to by the Finance Officer.
• Ensure accounts are prepared on a full accruals basis and fixed assets are depreciated.
• Regularly review the charities fixed asset register.
• Responsible for the review and sign-off of monthly financial management reports, ensuring they are accurate and timely. Attending the monthly Accounts Review meetings with the Executive team.
• Ensuring the smooth running of the annual audit process and preparation of the annual statutory accounts. Assist the Finance Officer to respond to queries and deliver reports and supporting documents required by the Auditors.
• Prepare the Annual Return for the Charity Commission.
• Assist the Operations Director in the production of reports on year-to-date management accounts at Finance and General Purposes Committee (FGP) meetings and at meetings of the Board of Trustees.
• Provide proactive guidance to improve our financial management, risk response and respond to changing financial conditions.

Business Manager - Dementia Support & Partnerships
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Dementia Support & Partnerships Directorate at Alzheimer’s Society supporting the Senior Leadership Team and its Executive Director

You will be integral in delivering and measuring the success of its ambitious plans as part of our Help and Hope strategy, ensuring that we are there for everyone affected by dementia. The successful individual will lead a team of two Officers who support the business requirements of the directorate to ensure that annual planning, objectives setting, and performance indicators are firmly established and deliver against the Society-wide strategic priorities; as well as ensuring that the directorate is regularly reviewing its performance and assurance activities relating to internal policies and external legislative and regulatory requirements.  You will be experienced in monitoring strategic plans and able to translate your findings to senior leaders in relation to risk and resource to enable problem-solving and decision-making. This role sits within Dementia Support & Partnerships which is a
complex and multi-faceted directorate of over 1100 employees and 2000 volunteers.  The directorate includes our Local and Universal Services delivery across the three nations of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland; commercial and partnerships which oversees the successful end to end management of service contracts, external training, and our service delivery partnerships; and a portfolio of enabling functions that ensure our Services practitioners and managers are provided high quality training and technical knowledge; and delivers assurance activities and legislative compliance relating to safe practice across the entire Society.

- Designing and delivering annual planning and objective setting for the Directorate which align with our Society strategic priorities.

Trusts and foundations

• Support the Head of Fundraising with research and identification of grant opportunities relevant to WECare.

• Work with the team to implement corporate fundraising policies, ensuring that WECare can respond appropriately to fundraising approaches by companies.

• Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising and the team to create and implement a comprehensive Community Fundraising Strategy.

Re-engage is a charity that is positive about older age and committed to fighting loneliness so that people can have social lives and friendship groups however old they are. We inspire and enable meaningful connections and shared experiences within communities across the UK for people over 75 facing loneliness and social isolation.

We are looking for a Head of Fundraising and Partnerships to join Re-engage. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will oversee the charity’s fundraising teams with responsibility for the whole range of fundraised income, as well as developing and supporting partnerships across the organisation.

With our ambition to grow over the next five years, this role will be critical to the success of Re-engage and our ability to reach more older people and reduce more loneliness.

About the opportunity

The Head of School Marketing will lead and deliver comprehensive, cross-organisational marketing initiatives that result in an increase in the number of schools partnering with Action Tutoring. This role will define, deliver and adapt marketing strategies that effectively communicate the charity's value proposition to schools, leading to increased interest and sales.
