Charity Events Manager Jobs in Charing Cross, Greater London

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. This includes conducting follow-ups and answering queries (by phone, email and in person) from both current and prospective participants on the programmes being delivered by High Trees. They will also be responsible for the preparation of finance related performance evidence for monthly/quarterly submission.

The successful applicant will have experience of providing efficient administrative support, be very organised and able to work to deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Must also be flexible and excited about being at the heart of a small but fast paced team which is committed to providing an excellent service to High Trees’ users.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

About the role

It’s been an exciting year for the CoppaFeel! Marketing team; we’ve had a brand refresh, onboarded new agencies, launched award winning campaigns and grown a partnership with Love Island. And it’s all been in the name of our mission; to ensure all breast cancers are diagnosed early and accurately in young people.

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Marketing to lead our Marketing team, help shape the direction of and oversee our 2025 campaign, and collaborate with other Heads of Departments to deliver CoppaFeel!’s three year organisational strategy.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work as a valued part of the CoppaFeel! Leadership team to deliver the organisational strategy, shape the culture and influence cross departmental ways of working.

• Lead the CoppaFeel! Marketing team - setting direction, supporting growth and overseeing performance. 

• Inspire and motivate the personal development of team members. 

• Directly line manage the Marketing Manager, Social Manager and Digital Marketing Manager (subject to change, to be discussed at interview).

• Lead on the delivery of CoppaFeel!’s marketing strategy and management of marketing output across the charity.

• Lead on the delivery of the annual marketing campaign to create award winning, impactful work that raises awareness of CoppaFeel! with our target audience. 

• Manage key third party agency relationships. 

• Oversee and develop audience insights and segmentation. 

• Ownership of the marketing budget and quarterly re-forecasting. 

• Contribute to quarterly all staff team meetings.

• Develop long term partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders both in the breast cancer space and marketing sector that bolster CoppaFeel!’s growth and awareness with young people. 

• Ensure rigorous reporting and analysis of marketing activity to ensure delivery of planned KPIs, with an ambition to be constantly improving and evolving. 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Minimum 5 years experience working in a marketing/brand communications role.

• Demonstrable experience of implementing marketing strategies. 

• A strong track record of delivering multi-platform, integrated awareness campaigns, with an understanding of media planning, creative, PR and social media planning, creative, PR, social.

• A leader with the ability to develop and motivate a multidisciplinary team to achieve high standards. 

• Clear understanding of audience insight, including experience targeting and tailoring campaigns and communications to CoppaFeel!’s 18-24 year old target audience.

• Experience developing and managing strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.

• Budget management. 

• Agency management. 

• Strong negotiation skills. 

• Experienced in tracking and reporting on campaign success against KPIs and ROI.

Desirable

• Knowledge of the challenges / limitations of working in the charity sector.

• Knowledge of planning and buying media vs securing “earned media”/pro-bono partnerships.

• Experience of working for a youth focused brand or charity.

Sounddelivery Media is a dynamic charity that seeks to amplify lived experience stories and expertise to address social inequalities. We work alongside people with direct experience of injustice and inequality to advocate for themselves and their communities.

Our Spokesperson Network constitutes a network of media savvy spokespeople, who have direct experience of social injustices. Developed collaboratively with a network of leaders with lived experience, it aims to diversify the voices we hear in the media and make it more representative of the society we live in. Through training, media mentoring, peer support and speaking opportunities, we tackle the barriers that prevent these experts from engaging with journalists who have the power to influence coverage and ultimately drive change.

Members of our network have spoken on all the major news outlets from BBC Newsnight, BBC Radio Four, ITV News, to the Times, the Guardian, places where they can reach audiences of millions and have influenced documentaries and a storyline for a high profile drama. Our work additionally seeks to support the wider charity sector to develop and amplify lived experience stories and expertise themselves. You will provide strategic support to our dynamic Spokesperson Network of leaders with direct experience of social injustices, through;

Managing our existing media relationships, and developing new ones, to create opportunities for our network of confident public spokespeople to be visible
This role will enable us to increase the visibility and impact of our programme participants and their communities by engaging with journalists, media professionals, and other influential platforms. You will be responsible for broadening speaking opportunities, such as broadcast interviews, opinion pieces, and identifying potential storyline collaborations across various media outlets. You’ll also seek opportunities to feature our network in public forums like TEDx talks, conferences, and other platforms that influence public conversations.

Empowering Network members through training and support to develop and maximise media opportunities themselves.
In addition to media engagement, you will play a key role in empowering our network to create and share their own content. This includes helping participants build confidence and develop skills in content creation (eg vlogs), and pitching to the media, ensuring their voices reach those in positions to drive meaningful change.

Building trusted relationships with lived experience leaders in a ethical, trauma-aware, and holistic way
You will work closely with our community to activate and strengthen our network, driving collective action and amplifying the important issues they are addressing. Building trusted relationships with lived experience leaders is key, and you will ensure that all engagement is grounded in ethical, trauma-aware, and holistic support.

Sharing knowledge with other charities supporting Spokesperson Networks
You will help share what we learn through our work with other charities and learn from them too. Using peer-led sessions to share best practice, challenges and ideas for charities working to amplify the voices of people with direct experience of social injustice.

As a small but growing charity, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of our organisation alongside a supportive trustee board, a dedicated team of four staff, and a group of skilled freelancers. Your contribution will be integral to our mission and the positive change we aim to create.

-With a background in media relations and/or journalism at a senior level you are someone who cares about the way issues are framed, reported and covered in the media.

-Proactively source longer-term opportunities for the issues our community addresses to be more visible in the public eye this could include building relationships with soap storyliners and documentary makers. 

-Support the team on Sounddelivery Media events that increase the visibility of our community and our work

-Support with delivery of media training and coaching on our programmes. 

-Work with the communications team on content- ensuring messaging is impactful in blogs 

-Participate in our peer-led meetings to share our learning and invite guest speakers to share theirs.

-Contribute insights on our media work for reporting to Funders and Trustees

What skills and experience you’ll have:

Essential

-Experience at a senior level working in media relations within a charity, journalism or similar.

-Significant experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with a range of journalists and media professionals;

-A confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills

The Community Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

The Regional Fundraising Officer role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the North East & Yorkshire regions.

You will report to the Community Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Regional Fundraising to drive the continued growth of the charity’s community fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategy, finance, and reporting

· Responsibility for 3 income streams within the region including corporate, community groups and Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising.

· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with partnerships in your region with a value of up to £100,000.

· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, following fundraising legislation and good practice.

· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.

· Support the Community Fundraising Manager (CFM) and Head of Regional Fundraising (HORF) in developing the Community Fundraising strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream.

· Support and extend volunteer networks within the geographical area in line with strategy.

· To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed locally to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with strategy. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of groups and volunteers across the geographical area.

· Work across a diverse geographical area and within a geographically dispersed team, whilst managing own workload cost-effectively and proactively.

Supporter Management

· Provide excellent customer service to community fundraising supporters (including maintaining a polite, enthusiastic manner with prompt responses to enquiries), to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Provide high-quality account management to volunteer groups in geographical area.

· Effective management of volunteer relationships within geographical area.

· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.

· In liaison with the Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, provide high-quality account management to corporate supporters within the specified geographical area and/or of relevant value.

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.

· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.

Increasing Community Support within geographical area

· Use own initiative to extend volunteer networks, develop new groups and supporters, and respond to fundraising opportunities within the geographical area, in line with strategy.

· Run volunteer events with both a recruitment and cultivation function, liaising closely with the Stewardship and Events team to ensure a seamless supporter journey, and with the Press team to include media volunteers.

· Manage the recruitment process of new ARUK volunteers in the geographical area, providing relevant support and training.

· Liaise with local community organisations (e.g., golf clubs, educational institutions etc.) – both previous and new potential supporters – to extend income and activity in line with the strategy.

· Initiate and roll out community fundraising events in the geographical area with evidence of effective ROI and achievement of strategic goals.

· Provide face-to-face talks and presentations to community organisations for recruitment/ cultivation purposes.

· Arrange appropriate volunteer representation at events in the community (for example, for cheque collections and talks), spreading the charity’s reach cost-effectively.

· Identify, research and target prospective community organisations, in liaison with CFM.

· Identify, research and target prospective local corporates in liaison with CFM / HORF and ARUK’s Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, in line with both community and corporate strategies.

· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure that your activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to your Community Fundraising Manager.

· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income.

What we are looking for:

· Experience in partnership fundraising and/or relationship-building.

· Experience in public speaking, such as giving presentations and talking at events.

· Knowledge of recruiting key volunteers and fundraising supporters.

· Experience and a keen interest in building long-term relationships with supporters.

· Proven ability to provide excellent stewardship.

· An ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Full driver’s license with access to own vehicle. 

· Flexibility to work some unsocial hours and willingness to travel independently.

· Live within North East & Yorkshire regions.

About The Role 

The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Builders to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and confident people who are passionate about collaborating with communities in the design and delivery of interventions that bring and connect people together to strengthen networks within the local community. Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, the Community Builders will play a vital role in helping to improve lives for Armed Forces Community members by creating a supportive environment that allows them to re-engage and connect with the services at Help for Heroes and with the wider community. 

The main purpose of this role is to connect local people through their skills, passions and assets and support the creation of new connections, bringing people together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. This will include listening to different points of views, building relationships and motivating people to work together and create their own action influenced by their interests and skillsets to positively impact local communities and help them to flourish.

About You

You will have experience leading and facilitating the mobilisation of local communities, asset mapping, bringing together people for engagement that matters to them. You will have knowledge and experience of Asset Based Community Development work, outreach methods and you will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to animate local communities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outreach to drive local connection, engagement and participation opportunities for the AFC 

• Develop and embed an ABCD informed way of work 

• Asset map 

• Organise and facilitate community meetings to share ideas, encourage collective decision making and build a sense of belonging 

• Encourage and pilot community lead action in response to local AFC needs/interests through peer led/co-designed initiatives 

• Increase awareness of the challenges faced by military personnel, veterans and their families

PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidates will need to be based within an hour’s commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). Flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying. 

We are looking for someone with the following: 

• A Community Development qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience working within a community development or similar role, with responsibility for bringing about social change and improving quality of life 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships which lead to actions  

• Demonstrable experience within an integrated multi-disciplinary service  

• Experience of engaging and working collaboratively with partners/stakeholders 

About the Team 

You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. You will do this to proliferate opportunities for sustainable participation and engagement alongside a multi-disciplinary team in order to support the Armed Forces Community to live well after service.

Specifically designed to support the cognitive needs of people living with dementia, My Life TV can be used by individuals and their families at home as well as in care homes. As Head of Marketing, you will lead on the implementation of marketing strategies that contribute to Care Home-facing activity as well as broader strategic plans. With ambitious growth targets, marketing activity will be focused around increasing channel subscribers and building long-term relationships with care homes.

Main responsibilities within the role will include:
· Creating a well-defined and focused marketing plan to enable the effective delivery of organisational vision and strategy for growth

Duchenne UK is an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity. Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. 

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.

• Aligned to the organisational strategy, designing and delivering Duchenne UK’s income generation strategy, establishing a delivery plan to hit targets across a diverse range of income streams, including community fundraising, events, trusts and foundations, major donors, research and development grants and commercial income.
• Oversee the process and systems of managing funders and new business opportunities, including overseeing the charity’s CRM system (Salesforce) to support a high end and holistic approach to the account management of funders and stakeholders.

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. Job Purpose 
Growing Hope is a national charity with a growing number of clinics across the UK. This operations role will provide support across the Growing Hope national staff team. This will include support with administration, finance, fundraising and training. This role is key in enabling all the functions of the national charity to run smoothly and effectively. Main Duties and Responsibilities

IT administration

• Administration of IT systems, logins and spreadsheets for the team, volunteers, staff and freelancers (keeping these up to date and amending systems as required).

• Oversight of IT systems used by Growing Hope including ticket tailor, jot form, mail chimp, Microsoft office, google adverts and tracking. Supporting with problem solving when issues arise. 
• Overseeing and training others in Canopy (clinic administration software) and helping support and problem solve with using this. This includes liaising with a freelance software developer to manage the development project.

HR administration

• Oversight of the recruitment checking process for new volunteers, trustees, freelancers and employees. This includes carrying out DBS checks, calling referees, chasing for references and communicating with individuals as they start with Growing Hope.
• Management of the ‘internal news’ list in order to track individuals working closely with the charity. 
• Writing, drafting and sending out HR letters, contracts and contract variations. 
• Organising internal events on behalf of the team including away days, training days and ad hoc events. 
• Organising online training as required for members of the Growing Hope team.

Office Support

• Overseeing the day to day office and building use including the alarm, maintenance visits, wifi, printer and other equipment. This includes liaising with other individuals who have office use.
• Liaising with the Director of Operations around the use of the office.
• Ordering office supplies as required, ensuring office space and storage is kept organised. 
• Supporting with external events planning including finding venues, sponsorship and items needed.

We are seeking a skilled, dedicated and experienced financial lead to ensure careful financial management of our organisations, and to oversee our work with a number of partner organisations to which we outsource operational services. 

The Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism are separate organisations, which are currently working towards coming together as one charity. The successful candidate will initially be employed by the Movement for Reform Judaism, working closely with Liberal Judaism as a partner organisation. 

A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA), who is a strong multi-tasker, you will have a proven track record of leading a team and working in partnership with colleagues.  This senior role will be responsible for finance and risk for MRJ and LJ, as well as providing accounts, budgets, overseeing audits for 3 other related charities, with an overall combined turnover of £10m.

We’re looking for an ambitious fundraiser to join our Philanthropy team, capitalising on recent growth and with the chance to really make your mark. Your role is to engage influential and high-profile individuals and Trusts in the UK, connecting them to the difference they can make to thousands of men facing prostate cancer.

Providing the highest level of stewardship, you’ll ensure existing and new supporters feel valued, inspiring them to make five and six figure gifts, which will significantly improve the lives of men facing prostate cancer and their families. You’ll also harness the support of our enthusiastic and influential Trustees, Senior Volunteers and Leadership Team, involving them in ‘making the ask’, thanking, as well as attending events.

What we want from you

You’ll have a strong team ethic, along with the enthusiasm and willingness to be flexible in achieving targets and outcomes. With experience of Major Donor and/or Trust fundraising and a proven track record of achieving five and six figure gifts, you’ll have outstanding persuasion, negotiation and communication skills, along with the ability to develop strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, Trusts, Trustees and Directors.

You’ll be highly organised and adept at juggling multiple tasks and have the ability to balance management of existing donors while cultivating potential new supporters. You’ll be able to dive into the detail of individual engagement plans whilst keeping an eye on the big picture of the overall programme and how to achieve it so we can save more men’s lives.

• As part of our flexible working policy, you will be free to work remotely for the majority of your time if you prefer. However, you will need to be able to be in London when required for events and in person meetings with partners and trustees, team planning days and other duties as part of our senior management team. This will be approximately two or three days per month on average and you will need to cover the cost of your travel.

The role

This key leadership role is at the core of a very successful and ambitious directorate, one that has seen some wonderful achievements across all income streams. This includes award-winning partnerships from the corporate sector, with partners including McDonalds, KPMG and The Premier League, in addition to a fantastic array of trusts and foundations, and strategic relationships with national bodies such as Arts Council of England and the Department of Education.

The Director of Development will continue our impressive growth trajectory and inspire a team of talented and ambitious fundraisers to success. You will work closely with the CEO and fellow members of the Senior Leadership Team, as well as being a key contact for delivery colleagues and programme leads.

About you

You will be an experienced and compelling leader, someone who can demonstrate a successful track record building and delivering fundraising strategies. You will need to show success in achieving income growth, and be experienced across several income streams, including managing strategic partnerships from the corporate world, working strategically with national bodies (e.g. Arts Council) and a deep understanding of fundraising campaigns. You will have exceptional communication skills across all audiences, including working at board level, and have an excellent understanding of financial planning and reporting. You will be a natural leader, who can engage, motivate and inspire the development department, and play a key part in building a strong and inclusive organisational culture, as part of our ED&I commitments.
