As our Senior Strategic PR Lead, you will develop and oversee a strategy pursuing global opportunities to influence and respond to developments that strengthen ProVeg’s impact of an international food awareness organisation. Using an evidence-based approach and real-life stories you will inform, inspire, and influence a changing food system. You will position ProVeg as a pragmatic, solutions-oriented actor within the ecosystem of plant-based, fermented and cultivated food. You will work with NGOs, companies, food-service providers, startups, investors, policy advocates, the public, and many others to amplify key messages.

Responsibilities

Strategic development and implementation

• Develop and oversee an effective PR communications strategy, including business/trade press and public affairs (EU and UN advocacy), based on ProVeg’s strategic principles, impact areas and global interventions.

• Be accountable for the development, delivery, and evaluation of the organisation’s PR activities.

• Create relations with key media outlets to increase visibility and dissemination opportunities

• Develop media relations and build relationships with PR contacts to continuously grow our impact.

• Secure media opportunities for the Senior Leadership and Executive Team and the Global CEO.

• Oversee and ensure the management of positive relationships with the media and relevant change agents, and external colleagues.

• Develop and update, as needed, clear guidance (e.g., core messaging and brand narrative) for the communications team to ensure public communications are aligned with ProVeg’s organisational strategy and communications approach.

• Increase ProVeg International’s profile, particularly in broadcast media, enhance the organisation’s credibility and inspire supporters and other stakeholders through the use of engaging communications.

• Safeguard the organisation’s brand by overseeing and managing the development of crisis communications plans and advising on emerging issues and PR risks and opportunities. 

• Liaise with the Global CEO and the Senior Leadership Team on strategic communication alignment and/or adjustments, and coordinate and ensure synergies in terms of quality control, key messages, templates, strategies, etc. 

Management and leadership

• Model excellence in (remote) team management by motivating, coaching, giving, and receiving feedback, supporting and developing teams and skills, and driving innovation and creativity.

• Advise and work with colleagues across the organisation, to ensure we maximise opportunities to raise awareness, influence, and deepen engagement with our audiences in order to support a variety of objectives.

Budget and resource management and evaluation

• Manage a dedicated budget for effective reporting and forecasting.

• Produce timely and regular management information for leadership that effectively explains performance set against OKRs, KPIs and the broader strategic plan. 

Qualifications

Required:

• An excellent understanding of the plant-based and alternative protein sector and knowledge of food systems change.

• A successful track record (5+ years) in journalism (print or broadcast), marketing, or public affairs, developing and delivering strategic objectives across a range of communications channels.

• Strong track record in PR (including broadcast), marketing and/or organisational branding.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English to native level (or C1).

• Excellent networking skills and experience in building productive relationships with key media stakeholders and influencers.

• Strong project management skills.

• Ability to juggle a varied workload, delegate effectively and contribute as a team player.

• Strong team management skills and a commitment to motivating and empowering a team remotely in order to achieve their goals.

• High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills – externally and internally; ability to balance diverse interests of different teams.

The Director of Crisis Skylight Birmingham will be responsible for leading and developing strategic partnerships across Birmingham and the West Midlands region. Duchenne UK is an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity. Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. 

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this. 

Since 2012, we have raised more than £27 million to end the devastating impact of DMD.  We fund ground-breaking scientific research to find effective treatments. We’ve developed the infrastructure of DMD clinical trial delivery in the UK. We engage industry and regulators to accelerate access to treatments. And we’re here to support every family affected and ensure that they receive the best possible care. We aim not only to improve quality of life but stop the disease in its tracks. We’re doing it faster too, because this generation of patients can’t wait.

About the role

At a strategic level this role is responsible for leading on all aspects of income, including fundraising, commercial engagement, and new business opportunities, leading the development and delivery of a bold and effective income strategy to support our organisational ambitions and future sustainability.

The Director of Income Generation will inspire and develop the charity’s income team, taking overall responsibility for setting and achieving income targets for the organisation. They will ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to income generation across the organisation.

The Director of Income Generation will report to the CEO and be part of the Senior Leadership team, working closely alongside the Managing Director, Finance Director and Director of Research and Development.  They will line manage a team to support the delivery of the income strategy.

Job Description

Income Generation

• Aligned to the organisational strategy, designing and delivering Duchenne UK’s income generation strategy, establishing a delivery plan to hit targets across a diverse range of income streams, including community fundraising, events, trusts and foundations, major donors, research and development grants and commercial income.
• Oversee the process and systems of managing funders and new business opportunities, including overseeing the charity’s CRM system (Salesforce) to support a high end and holistic approach to the account management of funders and stakeholders.
• Set, monitor and deliver annual income and expenditure targets.
• Attend meetings with funders and prospects, and networking events to uncover new opportunities, including management of Duchenne UK’s Development Board.
• Developing and growing the income pipeline, working closely with the Research and Development team to identify funding for existing and pipeline projects.
• Support the team to develop professional and engaging materials including fundraising proposition, applications, proposals, appeals, pitches and reports.
• Proactively seek-out and identify new trends and developments and make recommendations to Duchenne UK.
• Oversee reporting to ensure the preparation and timely submission of reports on progress on objectives, budgets and targets.

About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

Purpose of post
In 2022, IMO decided to develop deep and focused youth employment programming
to address the significant need in our community. To deliver this, we are partnering
with Impetus. The new programme supports young people from South Asian
backgrounds to bolster their opportunities for sustained education, employment and
training (EET) by providing 1:1 mentoring, family engagement and practical experience.

We are excited to recruit a leader for this programme, to develop it beyond the initial
pilot phase into a long-term, sustainable provision, build and manage local
partnerships, work with others to develop a long-term funding model, and ultimately
to support young people in securing and sustaining employment.

This is an exciting and new type of work for IMO Charity, and we are looking for
someone to take it forward. It is a strategic priority, sits on the Senior Management
Team, and will report directly to the CEO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and line management

• Work with CEO and other SMT members in leading the wider organisation in 1:1 and Senior Management Team meetings
• Lead on recruitment, selection and induction of new mentors

• Oversee the delivery of further cohorts of the IMO’s youth employment programme including:

        - Ensuring provision of high-quality, consistent delivery of all pillars
        - High-impact, meaningful opportunities sourced and scheduled to meet the needs of
          individual young people
       - Effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting

• Management of delivery staff by way of:

        - Supervising and developing delivery staff both individually and as a group
        - Managing schedules and workload
        - Problem solving any delivery issues with the relevant parties e.g. schools,
          young people and families

• Build and contribute to a culture of impact management by:

        - Maintaining and monitoring systems & KPIs to facilitate regular impact management reviews
          which gather useful and relevant data to improve programme delivery
        - Conducting regular programme reviews with the relevant team members to evaluate delivery
          and impact and make required changes to the programme
        - Report updates and relevant impact data to the team internally as well as to the board,

• Work to identify and incorporate youth voice into IMO’s work, including by encouraging candidates to share their stories, challenges and feedback on our services

The Role Within Unseen

Unseen provides support to people who have experienced Modern Slavery and Human trafficking and actively champions capturing voices in our work and providing development opportunities for those we are working with.

The Policy & Research team are currently leading three projects. The Survivor Involvement Coordinator will support in the delivery of these projects.

 This role will work with Unseen’s Policy & Research Team and have regular interactions with staff across Unseen’s wider teams including Support Services, Fundraising, Media & Communications and Operations.

Purpose of the role

The postholder will support the collation of lived experience voices into our research work focused on policy impact on what really works to prevent modern slavery. The postholder will work closely with the Policy & Partnerships Manager, the Policy & Partnerships Officer, Senior Caseworkers and Unseen’s Survivor Consultant Volunteers and be responsible for supporting and improving our wellbeing activities, survivor voice forum and consultant focus groups.

The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) Department at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for mass fundraising through enabling individuals and communities to support ARUK through their own talents and passions. The team drives registrations and income through third party, virtual and mass participation events and manages these relationships to maximise income.

The Central Fundraising Team is the beating heart of SLF as they work across Regional, Sporting Events and Marketing & Engagement teams to ensure our supporters receive incredible stewardship to achieve their fundraising goals. They ensure processes are in place to allow teams to work together effectively and maximise opportunities and innovation that come through online fundraising platforms and fundraisers.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Line Management

· Line management of two Central Fundraising Executives and Senior Central Fundraising Officer.

· Monitor, review, and empower the team to ensure effective communication and place CFT as the heart of SLF.

· Support all CFT to reach their non-financial targets.

· Work with Senior Manager and Senior officer to deliver monthly meetings with the whole team to share ideas and creativity, gather feedback and understand successes and challenges.

· Spot potential development opportunities across the team.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure the fundraising CRM is being used consistently across CFT the wider SLF department to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and financial reporting.

· Effectively understand and communicate reporting processes undertaken by the CFT and gather feedback to ensure these are the most effective for both teams.

· Act as Lead for the Fundraising CRM use for the Community Fundraising Managers, RFOs and Central Fundraising Team to allow accurate, insightful, and consistent reporting.

· Provide the CFT and regionally based teams with the tools they need for effective working relationships.

· Provide a monthly Department Report update for CFT as well as ad-hoc reporting when required.

· Use data and trends to support the SLF leadership team in in budgeting and forecasting.

· Work closely with the Data and Digital teams to monitor SLF’s contactable supporter base and segmentation.

· Assess and address Salesforce training needs across SLF

· Proactively Identify and Resolve Salesforce Issues, escalating to Senior Central Fundraising Manager where appropriate.

Supporter Stewardship

· Lead on the delivery of a unified approach to supporter care across SLF, including use of data, automation, product development and LTV.

· Monitor and gather feedback from employees and supporters about our stewardship and ‘surprise and delight’ offerings, constantly seeking creative and inspirational new stewardship methods and relevant improvements.

· Coordinate the re-engagement stewardship project for all SLF teams, with structured content input from Managers and direction from the CFM responsible for DIY fundraising.

· Inspire and train the CFT to nurture active fundraisers and build relationships to increase long-term loyalty.

· Frequently analyse and understand SLF supporter journeys to ensure they are consistent, ensure collaboration and idea sharing and offer the best level of stewardship for the supporter.

· Understand and analyse how RFOs and CFT steward supporters through to ensure cohesion, passing of leads between teams and sharing best practice across the wider team at all times

· Regularly review and analyse the supporter chase process to ensure we are receiving funds in a timely manner.

· Review and analyse the tiering system regularly to ensure it is fit for purpose and is offering the supporter the best stewardship journey.

· Lead on the implementation of recommendations from the annual mystery shopping exercise.

Project Management

· Become the lead for projects which involve the whole or majority of SLF to ensure tasks are delegated fairly and completed on time. Examples include Skydiving Days and Last Hour of Pay as well as platforms such as Tiltify and GivePanel.

· Be the central expert for SLF-wide process and projects, gathering experience and knowledge from all SLF teams and provide efficient and helpful updates accordingly.

Strategy and Operational Planning

· Provide creative and innovative suggestions for new supporter engagement and online fundraising products and projects. Work closely with the Senior Officers to implement and see through to completion.

· Identify opportunities for growth and diversification within the Online Fundraising space.

· Make recommendations on team structure and resource as part of the Ops Planning process.

· Work with the Director of Supporter-led fundraising to develop our strategic approach to innovation around digital and gaming channels.

Collaboration

· Support the CFT Senior Officer in overseeing the joint working between the Central Fundraising Team, the Regional Fundraising Officers and the Sporting Events Officers ensuring that supporters are given the best level of stewardship.

· Work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Team to share trends, learnings and collaborate on new projects and automated stewardship journeys.

· Continue to improve communications across all departments to ensure all resources are available across all teams.

· To ensure the team is the centre point of SLF and sharing communications regularly and have a good understanding of what is happening across each department.

· Work closely with managers from SLF Departments to ascertain workloads for the rest of CFT and ensure support is consistent across the department. To gain feedback from the different departments as to how processes are working and review for potential changes.

· Continue to review the level of support the team will offer to each SLF Department and ensure this is followed.

· Monitoring CFT and RFO KPIs/Goals to ensure consistency.

They will lead our advocacy for ambitious and actionable policies that will help unlock youth work for all young people. In addition, the Head of Programmes is also appointed as the Serious Incident Reporting (SIR) Officer, serving as the first point of contact for member agencies to report incidents regarding safeguarding, financial misconduct and reputational risk.

Externally, the Head of Programmes liaises with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Senior Response Officers, UN OCHA, Charity Commission, Emergency Appeals Alliance, Member Agencies including Humanitarian Directors and in-country colleagues.

Key responsibilities:

Communication and Collaboration

• Key point of contact with member colleagues regarding programmes finance, adaptive programming and DEC compliance, facilitating timely and accurate communication.
• Contribute to DEC functional and advisory groups, Board sub-committee meetings and Board meetings including participation in Humanitarian Directors meetings.
• As a key point of contact with FCDO SROs, develop and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship, and ensure timely delivery of all UK Aid Match MOU obligations.
• Strengthen and maintain colleagues understanding of DEC’s ways of working both internally and externally (DEC HQ members, in-country colleagues and local partners and key stakeholders).

Analysis and Reporting

• Provide oversight to the review and analysis of member charity appeal budget plans and financial reports with a focus on compliance with DEC policies and good practice guidelines to assess unusual variances and value for money considerations.
• Deliver and contribute to timely and high-quality infographics, reports and briefings for key stakeholders and institutional donors including Board of Trustees, FCDO and BBC.
• Manage & maintain investment in public transparency and demonstrate DEC’s contribution to the humanitarian sector, including reporting to IATI and UN OCHA Financial Tracking Service (FTS).
• Continuously develop, improve and manage DEC’s Knowledge Information Management systems (KIM), as user-friendly collaborating platforms that enhance learning and enable data analysis, visualisation and high-quality reporting.
• Collect, analyse and present accurate and timely data to help inform a rapid assessment of appeal Criteria 2 for both rapid onset and evolving protracted crises and contribute to the development of the Case for Appeal.

 Management and Leadership

• Holistic and flexible approach to any given scenario/context, whilst ensuring a robust process is followed, recorded and documented.
• Deputise for the Director of Humanitarian Programmes and Accountabilit
• Effectively line manage and provide leadership to Grant Managers and Programme Officers, contributing to the high performance of the Programmes & Accountability team.
• Manage the Appeal Surge Roster (external consultants) including overseeing recruitment and necessary training.
• As Serious Incident Reporting Officer, manage processes and support with onward reporting to key stakeholders including FCDO and Charity Commission.
• Manage service providers as required.
