And we're currently looking for Youth Leaders to join our Stoke All Services Unit so we can grow and expand our youth offering!

What would you be doing as a volunteer?
St John Ambulance needs YOU! We have amazing cadet units in Staffordshire, Shropshire & Wolverhampton that are ready to expand and open to more young people in our area and we need volunteers like you!
Being a youth leader is an amazing opportunity for adults aged 18+ to teach valuable lifesaving skills to young people aged 10 – 17 in your area! Volunteering at least two hours per week could make a massive difference to these cadets now and have a real impact on your community.
But it's not all about what you'll give - you will learn a lot too!
As the cadets develop, so will you. You’ll gain communication, listening and presentation skills and grow in confidence. You’ll also have the chance to learn First Aid and take on more advanced roles with training, all while being fully supported by the rest of your team.
Under your leadership, young volunteers will develop their potential, they will learn vital first-aid skills that they can deliver at events and activities around the community. They will gain confidence, make friends and engage in community and social change.

A unique volunteering opportunity to volunteer at Acorns Three Counties Hospice Garden Fete on Sunday 22nd September.
At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £10 million a year to run our care services.
Various roles available including - supporting running stall and games, serving refreshments and setting up and taking down gazebos.
This event is a unique opportunity to spend time in the hospice's beautiful gardens.
The event will be opened by TV star and Gladiator Diamond. There will be games and stalls along with music, food and refreshments.
Music will be provided by the fantastic Pershore Ukelele Group, we will have fun carnival-style games and entertainment, balloon-making, face-painting, glitter tattoos and hair braiding.
There will be a range of stalls from toy and book to plants. have a go on our gift tombola and play our raffle for some fantastic prizes.
How much time will it take?
10am – 5pm either for the whole event or a few hours - with a variety of roles available
Parking will be available on site or nearby for volunteers
All volunteers will receive hot drinks free of charge.

The Pelvic Radiation Disease Association (PRDA) is looking for a Chair of Trustees to provide strategic leadership for the charity, working in partnership with our Operations Manager and supported by a committed team of Trustees.
Who we are
Pelvic Radiation Disease (PRD) is a long-term side-effect (‘late effect’) of pelvic radiotherapy treatment affecting an estimated 100,000 people in the UK. People affected by PRD often have a complex set of symptoms affecting the bowel, bladder, sexual function or other functions for many years after radiotherapy, sometimes only appearing several years after radiotherapy treatment
PRDA is a small UK charity whose objectives are to see that the effects of PRD are minimised, that people affected by PRD are given the best possible care and treatment, and that PRD is accepted as a serious problem and given the attention it deserves.
Duties of the Chair
In addition to the duties of a Trustee, the Chair will:
- Provide strategic leadership to the charity and the Board, ensuring that PRDA achieves its mission.
- Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and team to achieve our mission.
- Lead the board in ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the organisation.
- Optimise the relationship between the board and PRDA’s staff and volunteers.
- Plan and chair the board meetings and the AGM, with others as appropriate.
- Act as a spokesperson and figurehead for PRDA.
What PRDA is looking for
Each trustee must have:
- a commitment to the vision and aims of the Pelvic Radiation Disease Association
- willingness to meet the minimum time requirement
- integrity
- strategic vision
- good, independent judgement
- an ability to think creatively
- a willingness to speak their mind
- an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
- an ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to take decisions for the good of PRDA.
Ideally, trustees should also have one or more of the following:
- Understanding of the impact of Pelvic Radiation Disease on people’s lives either through personal or professional connections, or be willing to learn about this;
- Prior experience of committee/trustee work;
- Knowledge of the type of work undertaken by PRDA (helpline, support groups, online support, health professional engagement, awareness-raising) and/or fundraising for a small charity, and
- Leadership skills.

The Harrison & Potter Trust is a wonderful example of charitable settlements made many years ago that continue to make a significant impact on people’s lives today.
It was established in 1970 when two old almshouse charities, the John Harrison's Hospital founded in April 1653 and the Mary Potter's Hospital founded in April 1728, merged to form the Harrison and Potter Trust. Background to the roles
The Board of the Harrison and Potter Trust currently comprises nine Trustees including the Chair, although the two people who are currently responsible for the grant-giving will be leaving within the next six months. We recognise the need to enhance the Board and welcome new Trustees who will bring energy and a range of wider experience, knowledge and skills to support our important work. We are seeking motivated people who live locally or in the surrounding areas and who share our commitment to honour our settlors’ legacies to provide housing for older people and to support local charities.

The Dementia Wellbeing Service provides practical and emotional support to help older people live independently and safely at home for as long as possible, stay socially engaged, and carry on doing what they love. The service supports Camden residents over the age of 55 in the early or moderate stages of dementia. The coordinator works with the client, their family, or carers to produce a personalised wellbeing plan.

What does the role involve?
Volunteers assist the Dementia Services Manager with all administrative aspects of delivering the services including communicating with people referred to the service.

We are the only pro bono charity to provide access to legal assistance in all areas of law, in all courts and tribunals across England and Wales.
We have been facilitating free legal help since 1996 and have grown into a thriving organisation working with almost 4,500 volunteer barristers. Our team comprises 23 dedicated casework, communications and administrative staff, as well as a committed team of student casework volunteers who work with us daily. About Bar in the Community
Bar in the Community (BIC) is a volunteering initiative overseen by Advocate that was set up in 2000 with the aim of matching barristers volunteering their time with management committee positions of local voluntary organisations. Since then, BIC has expanded the breadth of volunteering it seeks to facilitate and now works to find barristers and chambers professionals to fill a variety of voluntary roles across a range of local and national organisations.
The initiative advertises roles from a range of charities working towards many different causes beyond the Bar. Prospective volunteers can become trustees, governors, mentors, workshop facilitators, resource creators and much more. The scheme has opportunities available for every skill set and every level, so these benefits can be found whether volunteers are just starting out in their career, looking to progress to a more senior level, or even retired.

About the role
We are looking for two people to join the recently created management committee of BIC at a key stage in our development as we look to further expand the initiative, with a particular focus on engaging more charities and more volunteers.
We want to recruit two candidates with a commitment to volunteering and the work of BIC. We are looking for people with the following background:
1. Marketing and engagement: At present, the most important goals for Bar in the Community are to engage charities to ensure a steady stream of interesting opportunities and to engage volunteers to take on these opportunities. It is therefore essential for the management committee to be able to advise on how to promote opportunities and engage people and organisations.
2. Expertise in volunteering: As one of our key focuses is to engage the Bar in volunteering through BIC we are eager to recruit someone with previous experience working with volunteers and successfully recruiting for volunteer vacancies.
We recognise the need to ensure that Equality Diversity and Inclusion is reflected in all aspects of Advocate’s work including our management roles. We appreciate the additional perspectives diversity brings adds depth and understanding to our work. To that end, we strongly encourage applications from people from ethnic minority backgrounds or other underrepresented backgrounds.
Applicants do not need previous management committee experience to undertake this role and we welcome applications from those with all levels of experience.
Time commitment and requirements of the role
Members would attend management committee meetings every three months. These meetings would last approximately an hour and time should also be factored in ahead of the meeting to read the papers. We anticipate these meetings being online. We are eager to recruit people who are willing to actively participate in discussions.
We are looking for candidates with a willingness to commit the necessary time and effort and to apply your experience and expertise to support the Manager of BIC. Those applying should understand the responsibilities of being part of a management committee.
Remuneration
The roles are unpaid positions, however reasonable out of pocket expenses may be reimbursed, particularly to assist with travel costs or caring responsibilities.

Support, guidance and keeping you safe
At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Are you passionate about organisation and community support? Do you have a knack for coordinating schedules and managing teams? If so, we need you to help lead our dedicated volunteers in the Catering and Housekeeping departments at ellenor Hospice!
The Role:
As the Volunteer Coordinator for Catering and Housekeeping, you’ll be the driving force behind the smooth operation of our departments. Your role will include:
- Managing Rotas: Creating and overseeing volunteer schedules to ensure coverage and efficiency in both the Catering and Housekeeping teams
- Recruiting and Training: Identifying and onboarding new volunteers, providing them with the necessary training and support
- Supervising Volunteers: Offering guidance and support to volunteers, addressing any concerns or issues that arise, ensuring all volunteers are compliant with mandatory training
- Maintaining Communication: Acting as the main point of contact between volunteers and the department, ensuring clear and effective communication
- Coordinating Activities: Organising and overseeing daily tasks to ensure that catering and housekeeping operations run smoothly and meet the high standards of the hospice
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong Organisational Skills: Ability to create efficient schedules and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent Communication: Good written English, Confident in liaising with volunteers, staff, and management to ensure smooth operations, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the aptitude and ability to learn in the role
- Leadership Abilities: Experience in supervising or managing teams, with a supportive and motivational approach
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all tasks and schedules are completed accurately and to a high standard
- Previous Experience: Experience in volunteer coordination, administration, management or a similar role is preferred, but not essential

We’re looking for one or two Fundraising Engagement Volunteer over the age of 18 years old, based in various locations in Northern Ireland.
You’ll be volunteering for 5-6 hours per month, dates and times to be determined with the volunteer
As a Fundraising Engagement Volunteer you will build relationships and connect with people, places and organisations to raise awareness of stroke and the Stroke Association within the community. By making these connections you will contribute to income and improve the experience of people affected by stroke.
The volunteer will have:
· A passion and enthusiasm for raising awareness of stroke.
· An enjoyment of talking to people and communities, either one to one, or presenting to groups.
· A keenness to demonstrate our values, and to help improve care and support for stroke survivors.
· The ability to travel to venues and events by yourself.
· A willingness to use technology e.g. ZOOM and Microsoft Teams to engage with people outside of your local area, and our intranet and learning platform to access resources and training

We’re looking for multiple Community Connectors over the age of 18 years old, based across various locations across London.
You’ll be volunteering: Dates and times to be agreed with volunteer.
The volunteers could be:
· Providing a valuable support to our teams based within the region.
· Building relationships with people, and organisations to raise awareness of stroke and the Stroke Association.
· Engaging with your local community to represent the Stroke Association, this could include the delivery of presentations or talks either face to face or digitally.
· Sharing your knowledge and experience of stroke to others.
· Researching and gathering information relating to life after stroke services.
· Supporting the process of volunteer recruitment and training.
· Attending fundraising events, including donation collections.
Whilst we would be delighted if you could perform all of these tasks, we will be happy to accept enquiries from you if you can provide suitable selective support.
