About the role:
Support to Head of Advice and Support
- Line management of three case workers
- Deliver the service in accordance with Providence Row, policies & procedures and values
- Work to service improvement objectives and team plans
- Contribute to the day to day management of the premises to ensure that facilities run smoothly for staff and service users
- Support management and other workers to manage any Incidents on site
- Contribute to partnership development
- Work alongside colleagues to ensure cross departmental support and appropriate support of shared clients
Client support
- Contribute to the smooth running of the Centre to ensure Providence Row is an enabling environment
- Assist managers and the frontline team to review client related incidents and follow up on complaints
- To ensure all clients are given appropriate trauma informed advice & support to improve their situation
- Ensure safeguarding of vulnerable adults processes are followed, where necessary and work with the organisational safeguarding lead
Team support
- Supervise three case workers
- Complete regular supervision, case work management and annual appraisals
- Contribute to the Providence Row assessment procedure
- Support colleagues with technical queries relating to case progression
- Attend training relating to housing advice and present the learning back to staff teams
- Ensuring the team are rehearsed in all policies and procedures
- Support the team to identify training for continued learning and development
Monitor and evaluate work, demonstrating impact
- Ensuring monitoring systems are up to date and that development is ongoing
- Assisting with the review of assessment and recording systems
- Working with other department leads on service user feedback collation
- Keeping accurate financial records of the teams expenditure
- Oversee Advice & Support Team contract monitoring reports for commissioners to ensure delivery against the service objectives and KPI’s.
- Attend contract monitoring meetings alongside the Head of Advice & Support
Partnership Work
- Work with the Head of Advice & Support to identify new partnerships while also developing existing arrangements
- Supporting the team with attendance at key networking events
- Contributing to the community engagement plan

Background to the Role
Do you have helpline or call centre experience? Are you good at communicating on the telephone? Do you enjoy helping people to find information and solutions to challenges? Are you approachable and a good communicator? We need you to join our high volume, friendly helpline team of staff and volunteers, answering calls and providing information and support to older people in Croydon.
Our helpline is a first point of contact for many older people and their families and carers as they tackle a variety of issues around finance, social engagement, housing and council tax, travel concessions such as Blue Badge and Taxi card. You will play a crucial role in answering our busy Information & Advice Helpline phone: listening carefully and sympathetically to callers, finding solutions to their queries or issues and. The role is varied and very rewarding, and no two days are the same.
Main Duties (but not limited to)
- Providing information and signposting to callers to our Helpline and to people enquiring by email
- Entering new client referrals on our database and recording each new enquiry on our systems
- Supporting and supervising volunteers within the I&A Team

- Offering a friendly and professional first point of contact for people phoning or emailing Age UK Croydon’s I&A Service

Key Responsibilities

As well as triage and intake, the role supports young people by navigating their journey either by facilitating their safe return home, or into longer term suitable supported accommodation.

About the role
We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. We are now looking for looking for an experienced and dynamic Housing Caseworker (Young People) to join our highly successful Advice Casework Service.
The Advice Casework Service provides trauma-informed, intersectional, woman-centred, rights and strengths-based advocacy and advice that supports survivors on their unique journey of healing and growth. The work is delivered through a commitment to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that strives to address additional barriers and meet the diverse range of survivors needs, understanding the specific support needs of each survivor. We are passionate about social justice and being part of dismantling systems and structures which oppress survivors, and Caseworkers play a key role in identifying current issues affecting survivors in London and opportunities for change.
As a Caseworker you will work with young women (18-30) who have experienced any form of violence against women and girls (VAWG), providing medium and long-term practical, emotional and advocacy support. You will amplify young women’s voices and create a non-judgemental and creative space where survivors are free to be their authentic selves, safely explore their rights, options and impact of their experiences, and make informed choices about their future. You will manage a caseload of young women, as well as lead in delivering our one-off drop-in specialist practical support to sessions to young women as part of the Voice and Choice Project.
About you
The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing specialist advocacy support to young people, have an excellent insight into the needs of survivors of VAWG and to be passionate about delivering creative face-to-face sessions to young people. This role will manage the daily running of third-party service providers, who are used by the Supporter Care and Services team, wider Fundraising teams, and by the third parties and in-house through KPIs and SLAs. As part of the role, you will manage the stock, storage and fulfilment of all of Barnardo’s new and existing fundraising and marketing materials, ensuring all compliance requirements are met, and operating the procedures and storage services for the team. You will develop and maintain performance reports as required, and will manage, manipulate and update data from multiple sources. You will manage the thanking processes used internally and externally and all associated service suppliers, meeting the needs of supporters, whilst also operating payroll giving administration, processing data and leading the onboarding process of new supporters.
To be successful in the role of Supporter Services and Fulfilment Executive you will need:
- Significant experience working with third-party service providers obtained from the commercial or charity sectors
- Experience developing and introducing systems and processes that improve efficiencies and effectiveness whilst saving costs
- Customer Relationship Management database experience, such as Salesforce
- Experience managing warehousing, stock, and fulfilment services
- Experience developing and working with Gift Aid

Main purpose of the role:
The Deputy Service Coordinator splits their time between the office organising rotas, liaising with families, social services, and health care professionals, and providing a minimum of 20 hours a week of direct support, as well as one weekend a month on the rota, depending on the needs of the service.
The role requires the postholder to take responsibility for being on call between the leadership team. There is an additional payment for on-call duty.
You will deputise for and support the Service Coordinator in leading and managing a community group comprising of a range of services for people with a learning disability and a team of support assistants.
The Deputy Service Coordinator supports the Service Coordinator in creating Community and leading the service delivery within the group in line with their values and standards and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC].
Key essential criteria:
- Openness to work with, and grow in relationship with, people with and without learning disabilities, and get to know their community life.
- Substantial experience of developing and implementing person centred and self-directed support for people with a learning disability.
- An ability to understand the value of faith based service provision and to articulate it to others outside of the organisation.
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
- Organisational skills to support the creation and management of service schedules.

Between years one and two you will receive a two-week paid break and a budget of up to £1500 to complete a research project on ‘Impact and Sustainability’ and report your findings back to representatives of our Group Board.
