As HR Business Partner, you will play a strategic role, acting as a partner to the senior leadership to enable us to deliver as effectively as possible to people with ME. Many of our 35 colleagues have direct experience of ME and, as an ME organisation, we work hard to ensure that we provide reasonable adjustments and support to enable them to make the valuable contributions they do. You will work closely with the Management Team to drive this work. You will need to develop a deep understanding of the organisation and our work, build strong, effective relationships with our colleagues and bring expertise to the various HR functions and strategic business support areas.
Key Duties
People & Culture Strategy
- Work with the senior leadership to deliver the People and Culture and the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Plans that enables the delivery of organisational goals
- Drive consistency of the implementation of the Plans
- Work with the senior leadership to review data, analyse trends, providing data-driven solutions/decisions to support cultural development. Use ongoing analysis to test the effectiveness of People and Culture interventions and processes within the organisation
- With senior leadership, manage talent and succession planning
Human Resource Management
- Provide first point of contact HR advice and support to colleagues and line managers, ensuring all instances are recorded appropriately
- Manage the compliant use of, and be first point of contact for, colleague queries on the HR IT System (currently BreatheHR)
- Support HR investigations and line managers with grievances, disciplinaries and other similar matters, recording meeting minutes and agreeing next steps.
- Liaise with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB; provides insurance and employment legal advice) on complex HR cases that require external input, either on behalf of or alongside relevant line manager(s)
- Oversee all HR policies and procedures, being guided by relevant internal data and industry best practice, and ensuring they are regularly reviewed
- Complete all required administrative tasks for new starters and colleagues leaving the organisation
- Processing and managing of maternity, paternity, and adoption in line with policies and best practice
- Running of monthly HR reports, to include sickness auditing and dissemination of relevant data to CEO and line managers, if required
- Scope, plan and book/deliver appropriate training across the organisation and for individual employees where necessary
- Managing the recruitment lifecycle, which is to include advertising of vacancies, screening of applicants, interview diary management, referencing and document checks, onboarding coordination
- Manage and administer all changes to contractual terms and conditions with appropriate paperwork disseminated to relevant parties
- Oversee HR support for volunteers, including Trustees and Sub-Committee Lay Members
- Oversee the organisation ‘Wellbeing Weekdays’ programme (a monthly programme to support colleague contact and wellbeing)

The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.

This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.
The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie. The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. This will be combined with a proven track record in managing large high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.

About the charity: Cavernomas look like raspberries and are found in the brain and spinal cord. They're formed of abnormal blood vessels with thin leaky walls, which can bleed at any age without warning. 1 in 625 people are thought to have a cavernoma, and whilst most people won't experience symptoms 1 in 2,700 do. About the roles: The Member Support Assistant is responsible for assisting our Volunteer Manager with administration relating to the support of the charity’s 4,000 members and volunteers. This includes offering a professional service to members of CAUK, typically via phone, email, online, chat, or on occasion in person. The role involves supporting the membership and volunteering processes, ensuring all admin is accurate and up to date. Over time the post-holder will be expected to build a good working knowledge of members and volunteers. The Events and Office Assistant is responsible for assisting the Charity Manager with the administration of events alongside some general office activities for the charity. The Local Storytelling Exchange is seeking a highly motivated individual to work closely with the Executive Director to drive forward the scale and pace of impact at the Exchange.
This person will be a creative individual with an entrepreneurial mindset. Excited about joining a start-up, they will be strategic and analytical, with a strong understanding of where storytelling can make the biggest public and political impact. A background in strategic communications and / or climate policy is desirable, but a strong track record in project management and ideas development is key. They will enjoy testing new ideas, evaluating success and developing new partnerships and opportunities. A self-starter, they will be a quick learner, able to take initiative and lead the effective delivery of programmes.
A clear grasp of the power of stories will be crucial to the success of this role.
These skills can have been acquired anywhere, but a commitment to environmental action is a must. What's most important is a genuine interest in the mission of the Exchange, the power of stories to catalyse progress on climate change, and a passion for addressing climate change in an inclusive, strategic way.

The Local Storytelling Exchange is uses storytelling and community engagement to shape a collective narrative of support for a fair green transition. Storytellers work in different regions/geographies to tell stories about individuals, groups and businesses who are finding more sustainable ways to live and work showing 'this is what the transition looks like'.

Job Description
We have created this new role to support the organisation’s growing finance functions. Working alongside the Treasurer and Co-Directors, the individual will play a vital role in managing the organisation's financial resources. Working flexibly from home, you will perform a core role in our small, friendly virtual team helping to oversee budgets and financial support. This is a freelance position with a flexible schedule. The expected time commitment will be between up to 14 hours per week, depending on workload.
key responsibilities

Prepare the annual organisational budget, long-term forecasts, cashflow forecasts and re-forecasts.

Lead on preparing the monthly management accounts, budget vs. actual analysis and commentaries.

About the Role
As the Finance Administrator you will build good relationships with the wider staff team and be a friendly and knowledgeable source of advice for all queries relating to donations, credit cards, expenses and budget processes. You will support the Finance Manager with day to day tasks, such as bank reconciliation, recording transactions in QuickBooks, responding to staff queries and budget template preparation. As a key member of the team, you will be the primary user of many existing processes, and will be able to identify when and how systems need developing or updating to be more efficient.

You are passionate about helping staff to record and manage their fundraising and expenditure. You appreciate order and logical systems and processes and are skilled at using those systems and explaining them to others. This full time, home based position covering Shropshire.
As a Fundraising Executive you will:
- Work with the Community Fundraising Manager to support the delivery of the fundraising strategy, developing regional plans to support growth and development, focusing on building strong and long-lasting relationships which will increase income and loyalty to the charity.
- Support the development of a robust prospect pipeline of opportunities, identifying and cultivating leads, re-engaging lapsed supporters and generating potential leads in collaboration with the Fundraising team.
- Organise and host quarterly meetings for Shropshire volunteers
- Manage donor records for the Shropshire region
- Give presentations, talks and pitches to a variety of audiences
To be successful, you must have experience:
- Experience of building and maintaining successful relationships with customers, clients or supporters
- Experience of working in a customer service role
- Experience of general office administration and support
- Experience of working to and achieving financial targets
- Experience of using a customer database, such as Access CRM or similar
- Experience of communicating with a wide range of audiences
