We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. Role Purpose

GDI Hub are looking for a Research Assistant to support the team across its portfolio of projects with a diversity of clients, partners and stakeholders.

The Research Assistant role sits within GDI Hub’s Community Interest Company’s Research and Delivery Team, led by Mikaela Patrick, Head of Research and Delivery.

For a portfolio of clients (for example, Asian Development Bank, World Bank & IFC, Carbon Trust and Dubai Expo City), and projects under the UK Aid funded AT2030 programme cluster ‘Integrate - Strengthen the systems which make inclusion a reality’ (for example, Local production Systems of AT, Designing Inclusive Dignity Kits for Dissemination in Humanitarian Crises and Climate Resilient Cities), GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team:

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative, primary and secondary research
• Report academic research and grey literature publications with recommendations, blogs and insights reports
• Provide strategic and operational consultancy and technical assistance
• Design and deliver training and workshops, host and present speaker sessions
• Organise knowledge dissemination for high impact
• Track impact and reach of research and delivery

GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team have a range of thematic expertise, including inclusive design, accessibility, inclusive infrastructure, inclusive climate resilience and responses, disability and gender, financial inclusion and inclusive private sector practice.

The majority of GDI Hub Research and Delivery Team’s work has a focus in Low or Middle-Income Countries (LMIC).

GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team and work is growing fast, and this role has been created to strengthen the team and its delivery across its portfolio of work.

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Experience working or academic study in relevant fields (including working closely and collaboratively with disabled people and disabled people’s organisations is desirable), such as international disability inclusion, assistive and accessible technology, accessibility and inclusive design, disability innovation and global health; with willingness to grow expertise across these areas.
• Ideally have some experience (approx. 2-5 years) working on research projects and/or practice-focused research in a related field. This could be as part of further study, research or in a work capacity. Real work experience is desirable.
• A post graduate qualification or equivalent work experience, focused on an area relevant to disability inclusion, accessibility and / or assistive technology.
• Experience and confidence to independently conduct qualitative research and analysis, and literature reviews.
• Experienced in quantitative research and analysis with proficiency in designing and running quantitative data collection via surveys and analysing results to inform statistically representative and robust results. Confidence to independently conduct descriptive and correlational analysis using for e.g., ExCel, Python, R or SPSS.
• Independence in producing clear and insightful infographics and data visualisations.
• Excellent written communication skills, with ability to take on writing of reports using clear and compelling narrative; experience authoring lucid and informative insights and reporting.
• Excellent ability to communicate, work in a small dynamic team, and collaborate with individuals with diverse technical backgrounds and with external stakeholders.
• Confidence in client relationship management for organisation of meetings, email engagements and clients and stakeholder presentations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lambeth Palace is the London home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, his family and two religious communities. It is the centre of his ministry, worship and hospitality.

The staff members at Lambeth Palace work as a small and close-knit team and support each other during busy periods with flexibility and good humour. You will be responsible for supporting the Chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury at an Executive Assistant level. This post gives an excellent opportunity of working in a small, friendly, busy office, in unusual and pleasant surroundings.

The role of the Chaplain at Lambeth Palace is to support the ministry to which God has called the Archbishop. This involves a wide variety of tasks, much of it behind the scenes. The Chaplain carries responsibility for pastoral and liturgical dimensions of the Archbishop's ministry in the Church of England, his speaking, publishing and award-giving commitments while leading on the Archbishop's first priority of the renewal of prayer and religious life.

He/she is also responsible for the pastoral care of those who work and/or live at Lambeth Palace - the 'community of communities' and the regular pattern of worship in its two chapels, in liaison with Chemin Neuf. He/she is also responsible on behalf of the Archbishop for liaison with the recently-founded Community of St Anselm.

Core Responsibilities

• Being aware and helping to deliver the Chaplain's objectives and views, and communicating these to external and internal parties, as well as maintaining discretion and confidentiality where necessary.
• Managing and prioritising communications with the Chaplain, whether by phone, e-mail, letter or in person, enabling him/her to achieve their objectives while ensuring timely responses.
• Dealing with the Chaplain's correspondence, including drafting replies to letters and emails, and where appropriate replying on their behalf. In addition to drafting briefs for the Archbishop's official engagements for which the Chaplain carries responsibility.
• Managing the Chaplain's diary, including booking rooms and offering hospitality where appropriate, and making travel arrangements.
• Organising the Chaplain's expenses and drafting budgets for the team.
• Receiving and greeting visitors, as required, on behalf of both the Chaplain and the Archbishop.

Key Requirements

• The role is primarily office based, however, there is some flexibility to all to allow for a degree of home working, specifically when there are no internal or external face-to-face meetings. This can be discussed once you have been appointed to the post.
• A basic DBS check will be required as part of our pre-employment checks.

Summary of position​​

Art Explora is looking for an experienced Community Programme Manager with a passion for arts engagement and cultural outreach to manage and build our innovative Community Programme for Art Explora in the UK. ​​

The Community Programme Manager will lead on and develop Art Explora’s key community programme streams – Arts at Home, Theatre at Home, Music at Home, Mini Art Explorers and Art Explorers at..., and manage Art Explora UK’s growing volunteer community. The Community Programme Manager will explore ways to expand the content for this programme though new partnerships with museums, galleries and other cultural institutions, as well as expand the programme into more care homes and other care settings, such as hospitals, across the UK.  ​

The Community Programme Manager will manage Art Explora’s growing pool of 140+ volunteers. They will ensure that Art Explora has a comprehensive and supportive volunteer offer. They will review our current volunteer recruitment processes and policies, safeguarding and training procedures, and ensure we meet the highest standards for working with volunteers. ​​

The volunteer community is key to Art Explora’s strategy for scaling up arts engagement in the UK. Through the generous support of volunteers, we can bring our arts programmes to more people and spread the benefits of engaging with arts and culture more widely. We are committed to delivering a volunteer programme that is inclusive, supportive and rewarding. ​

Current Community Programmes: ​

• Arts at Home: volunteers bring conversations about art to 7 older adult care homes across London on a fortnightly basis. ​

• Theatre at Home: in collaboration with volunteer collective OW! Theatre Lab, brings theatre to older adult care homes across London.

• Music at Home: in collaboration with music charities, brings a variety of music to older adult care homes across London. ​

• Mini Art Explorers: volunteers deliver creative activities for early years children in local authority libraries and family hubs monthly. ​

• Art Explorers at...: volunteers take care home residents to galleries, theatre and museums across London. Partners include Sadler’s Wells, The Hayward Gallery and the Whitechapel Gallery. ​​

About the role​

The Community Programme Manager will bring their own experience and knowledge of outstanding community programming to build on and expand the current programme. The Community Programme Manager will manage partnerships with key stakeholders and develop new relationships with a variety of partners, from cultural institutions to new care settings. ​​​

The Community Programme Manager is a pivotal position within the small, dedicated and growing Art Explora team in the UK. The Community Programme Manager will be supported by a Community Programme Assistant and the volunteer community. We are looking for a candidate with management experience.  ​​

To achieve this, the chosen candidate will not only have a passion for arts outreach and engagement, but will also have a proven track record in project management, managing volunteers, excellent organisation and communications skills, and be experienced in building relationships at all levels – with community organisations such as care homes, volunteers, local authorities, content and delivery partners, senior stakeholders, collaborators and supporters. ​

Key Responsibilities​​

Volunteer Management​

• Manage Art Explora UK’s volunteer community including training and social events. ​

• Manage all volunteer administration including volunteer handbook, project coordination and DBS checks. ​

• Manage the volunteer journey, from expression of interest to attending programme sessions. ​

Person Specification​​

Essential skills and experience ​

• At least 5 years’ experience delivering arts and cultural outreach programmes, for example within an education and engagement team for an arts organisation, or working directly with community organisations or within the care sector​

• Proven experience of volunteer management including recruitment, training, logistics and personnel management​

• A good knowledge of arts engagement practice in the UK and leading organisations in this field ​

• A proven track record of budget management and event coordination​

• Some experience of fundraising from public sector, trusts and foundations​

• A confident communicator (oral and writing), with an enthusiasm for building creative partnerships and capable of working with a wide range of senior stakeholders and partners ​

• A good knowledge of cultural policies and current cultural engagement landscape​

• Experience of implementing EDI policies and good practice, with passion for driving EDI related change in the arts and cultural sector

As the new Community and Events Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing The Passage's Community Fundraising strategy, designed to inspire and engage both existing and new supporters, ultimately building a stable and sustainable income pipeline.

Main duties

• Help deliver the teams’ existing events and community fundraising products, growing net income and actively seeking new opportunities for expansion.
