As Exams Assistant you will support the day to day running of the examinations with a particular focus on question bank management. You will be working with the Examinations Team and examiners across all specialties. This will include supporting examiner panels to organise and run question writing sessions and ensuring that question banks remain up to date.
You will also have a number of other examination-related duties, including – but not limited to – processing applications, invigilating at examination and collating examination results.

About the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET)
Today, one billion people will never see a qualified health worker in their lives.
Since 1988, THET has been working to change this. From reducing maternal deaths in Uganda to improving the quality of hospital care for injured children in Myanmar, we work to strengthen local health systems and build a healthier future for all.

Job Purpose
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator position sits within the Research, Evidence and Learning team and will make a key contribution to the quality of our programmes. The post holder will keep abreast of state-of-the-art M&E approaches to ensure the use of technically appropriate monitoring and evaluation models and information systems. The post holder will support the design of new programmes as well as provide technical advice and input to the monitoring, evaluation and learning of existing programmes. The Coordinator will also play a crucial role in ensuring that our external communications and policy work (at all levels) are informed by and accurately represent our evidence base.
Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead the development of proposals from a MEL perspective, including contributing to and leading on theories of change, and the development of MEL frameworks. Design, lead and manage participatory processes to establish country programme MEL systems. Lead development of organisational tools and processes – e.g. developing reporting templates for project reports where not supplied by the donor Lead the development of quality programme standards and tools for their implementation. Advise on and support the building of an evidence base of impact. Support development of theories of change for development of strategic goals for Health Alliances. Support the development of indicators and monitoring of Alliance activity. Support the design and implementation of evaluations. Building MEL Capacity Provide hand-on technical assistance to teams in the monitoring, evaluation and review of existing projects. Support staff with development/use of MEL tools and processes. Provide input and assistance to MEL activities, including data collection and analysis, and evaluation design. About the Role
This role will lead on the day-to-day operation of the accounts receivable, credit control, accounts payable and cash management functions. You will be required to work closely with the financial controller and other members of the Finance Team to ensure that processing in these areas is complete, accurate and compliant, and supports the timely preparation of management accounts. You will also work with colleagues from across the organisation and key external stakeholders to ensure that income is received, cash is held and monitored following the Charity’s internal financial controls, and all legal and regulatory requirements are complied with.
There will be a need to exercise good leadership and management skills and be able to prioritise and delegate effectively to the Finance Assistants.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the day to day operations of the sales ledger function
- Responsible for ensuring invoices are raised on time and in line with agreements with funders
- Responsible for the collection and recording of all non-rental income, in accordance with the charity’s income and internal controls policies
- Main point of contact for queries regarding non-rental income sales invoices
- Monitor all cash transactions and ensure they are recorded on the Finance system on a timely basis
- To lead on the day to day operations of the purchase ledger function
- To manage the preparation of the weekly payment run, ensuring that all due items are included
- Review nominal ledger activity and post journals for on a timely basis to ensure ledger information is accurate and complete in line with month end timetable
- Responsible for the accurate preparation of month end reconciliations for allocated balance sheet codes including Fixed Assets, bank accounts, debtors, accrued and deferred income
About You
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
· Part-qualified accountant or extensive and demonstrable experience in a variety of financial roles
· Experience in the preparation of accounts to trial balance stage
· Credit control experience
· Excellent IT skills, and an ability to identify opportunities for efficiencies through automation.
· Ability to use initiative, make sound decisions and prioritise effectively to ensure that outcomes are met
· A sound knowledge of and commitment to the implementation of financial controls to protect organisational resources
