In 2025 Oxford will open its new home for humanities, the state-of-the-art Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. This is an opportunity to join the University’s Humanities Development team as we work to secure philanthropic support for scholarships, academics and the capital project.
We are looking for a new fundraiser to join our energetic team to raise major gifts for a range of posts, scholarships, and other priorities across the Humanities. Oxford is the world’s leading university for humanities teaching and research. When it opens, the Schwarzman Centre will bring together seven faculties from the division under one roof for the first time. The University’s scholarship in languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion & the arts – from the earliest civilisation to the present day – enriches our understanding of humankind, and informs how we engage with historic issues and contemporary concerns.
About the Role
This fundraiser will work closely with senior academics in the Humanities Division. The post will focus primarily on funding for posts, scholarships, and access and outreach in the academic faculties as well as securing support for the activities of the Cultural Programme and Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. An interest and appreciation for the arts and humanities is essential.
To Be Successful You’ll Need:
- To be an experienced development professional with a track record of securing major gifts and the ability to secure gifts in the range of £100,000 to £500,000
- Confidence to work with people from a range of backgrounds, both internally and externally
- The ability to think creatively in prospecting, cultivation and stewardship
Salary:
Grade 7: £36,024 - £44,263 per annum with a possible extension to £48,350 - with an Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 per year (pro rata).

CEO Opportunity at Mentell
Due to the exponential growth in service demand and revenue streams, Mentell is seeking to recruit a CEO to oversee the charity's short/medium and long-term objectives – primarily to increase the number of men being served by its activities each week.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a small team and possess excellent communication skills to keep the trustee board updated.
Mentell is looking for a proven charity leader with a can-do attitude who wants to work within a dynamic and ever-changing funding landscape with the imagination and willingness to hold the vision for the charity and keep the organisation accountable to its mission.
The role requires the successful candidate to combine providing effective strategic leadership with a willingness to get their hands dirty and engage with various day-to-day tasks. At the heart of the CEO’s role will be overseeing the delivery of all Mentell programmes, including its weekly in-person and online groups and its community activities and awareness raising – all in line with the charity’s strategic aim of increasing the number of men being served; i.e. ‘Bums on Seats’.
About the Role
Experience in a VCSE leadership position is essential. The role offers an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in a fast-growing organisation with the support and backing of a forward-thinking trustee board. You will ultimately act as the gatekeeper for all new business (bids, tenders, commissioned work) and work with the Head of Projects & Fundraising to identify and build strong ongoing partner relationships. Therefore, the successful candidate must possess the people skills to build strong connections within the existing team and be able to represent the whole charity when presenting our service.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring a joined-up approach between communities and programme teams leads to the delivery of a seamless journey for men, from initial awareness of their mental health needs to attendance at a circle, whether online or in-person.
- Develop, implement and continually appraise the plan for ongoing service growth – geographically and through pursuing and building new partnerships.
- Ensure that raising awareness of issues relating to men’s mental health remains a golden thread running through the charity’s entire work and communications, irrespective of whether it results in men accessing Mentell’s services or those of another organisation.
- Work with the Head of Projects & Fundraising and Community Manager to ensure a pipeline of funding from grants, philanthropy, donors and community fundraising.
- Oversee and increase the impact of effective and innovative communications via website, social media and hard-copy promotional materials.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of charity and other statutory compliance.
What We’re Looking For
- Outstanding leadership skills proven within a charitable context.
- Demonstrable ability to develop and establish new organisational processes and frameworks.
- Demonstrable track record in supporting a strategic approach to fundraising, including the production of grant applications, personal/community fundraising and building effective relationships with key funders.
- A clear understanding of and passion for raising awareness of the needs of male mental health services, including lived experience of its challenges.
- Ability to work with and facilitate the work of trustees, staff and a wide range of volunteers.
Salary and terms
- 25 hours per week, spread over four days
- Salary (pro rata) - £47,000 to £52,000 per annum.

Title: Male Residential Support Worker (this is a live-in role)
Responsible to: Senior Support Worker
Responsible for: Young people living in the accommodation (4 young people aged 16 – 18 years old seeking asylum in the UK).
Location: This is a live-in, residential role based in a supported accommodation home in Loughborough. Some work will be based in our office buildings.
Hours: 25 hours per week on duty – this is a mixture of day, evening and weekend shifts. Two days a week will be off duty.
Leave: Two nights a month can be taken as nights away from the home. This in addition to annual leave allowance. Annual leave - 33 days (converted into hours) pro-rata for number of hours worked
Salary Band: £24,150 - £27,760 per annum pro rata. Equivalent to £16,100 to £18,506 for 25 hours a week.

Overall Purpose
To provide advice, assistance and support to young people in the home, as a key member of the Support Team, delivering Baca’s service in line with our Vision and Values. The role includes a consistent adult presence in the home. To attend to their practical and emotional needs whilst supporting the development of living skills. To teach them how to manage and look after a home in order to keep it safe and hygienic. To build trusting relationships within the home to enable young people to feel safe and cared for. To act as an excellent role model and to work closely with them and their Support Worker to enable them to make good progress towards independence.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome newly arrived young people into the accommodation, helping them feel safe and able to rest; with compassion without discrimination of age, race, colour or behavioural issues.
- Actively support young people to make progress and develop in the following outcomes; physical wellbeing and emotional wellbeing; personal safety; education and learning; employment and training that is safe and suitable; social engagement (being part of the community and activities outside of the home)
- Be an excellent and positive role model, offering advice, guidance and assistance and consistently modelling behaviours in line with Baca’s values.
- Using Baca’s progress plan, train all young people in living skills and looking after a home such as washing, personal safety, cleaning, cooking and food safety, food shopping and budgeting.
- Providing emotional support at times of difficulty, anxiety or stress.
- Encourage young people settle into and support them to maintain a healthy routine which will include regularly attending education and social activities.
- Act as a co-keyworker for the young people to ensure that their support plans and progress are up to date and that all their needs are being met.
- Enable young people to live with positive values and good boundaries by challenging any unhelpful or unsafe behaviours and encouraging safe and positive behaviours.
- In accordance with the guidelines on Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies, to accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and report any concerns.
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the Rebuild Team to ensure all young people are safeguarded and supported to rebuild their lives.
- Take responsibility for keeping the home clean, by consistently role modelling to and training young people.

This is a frontline role that will need the successful applicant to be working closely with young people in their houses and will need access to transport young people to different appointments, meetings and activities.

The Senior Public Affairs and Research Officer will drive policy change to increase surplus food redistribution by engaging with stakeholders across government, media, industry, and academia. The role will sit within FareShare’s public affairs—part of the wider marcomms team—which is responsible for advocating for policies that create an economic and legislative environment that is beneficial for surplus food redistribution. The Senior Public Affairs and Research Officer will be critical in advancing FareShare’s policy agenda, as outlined in the manifesto. Working closely with the Public Affairs, Policy and Campaigns Consultant, you will lead efforts to engage influential stakeholders, create compelling content, and coordinate high-impact events. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence national policy and contribute to meaningful change in the food redistribution sector.
Key responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies, media, and academia, to advance FareShare’s policy objectives.
Policy, Research, and Briefings: Develop in-depth policy knowledge and produce well-researched briefings and reports articulating FareShare’s policy goals. Identify opportunities for FareShare to feed into Government consultations and Select Committees.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will work closely with the Director of Finance, CEO, Finance and Programmes teams, and colleagues across the income generating and external engagement team; supporting them to meet financial targets, provide excellent stewardship and to implement key administrative and financial processes.
The core responsibilities include:
Income generation and External Engagement

Ownership of a range of administrative tasks, including stewarding of donors and partners and support of the Development Board.

Promptly addressing incoming queries from supporters and partners, including email, telephone and post; assist the team by managing;

Oversee the management of contracts with partners and funders; generate, issue and follow up in a timely fashion.

Act as the key liaison point between the income generation and finance team.

Work with Finance to identify and find solutions to bottlenecks in the purchase order, invoicing and payment process.

Ensure that money coming into the charity can be identified and coded accurately on the CRM database and finance systems.

Create and maintain accurate records in the finance system, including billing values, timings and dates.

About the Role
We are recruiting a Standards Officer to join our small and friendly Standards team.
The role of the Standards function is to monitor newspaper, magazine and digital publishers’ compliance with the Editors’ Code of Practice and to take action to address concerns about editorial standards, including by undertaking investigations into serious standards failures as necessary. It’s a busy team that coordinates closely with others at IPSO and outside the organisation, engaging with members of the public, journalists, and experts on a wide variety of subjects. Some recent issues that the standards team has worked on are reporting of sexual offences, suicide, major incidents, and domestic abuse.
As the Standards Officer, you will carry out a range of tasks, including analysing information drawn from complaints received by IPSO, supporting the annual statements process and engaging with a range of representative groups who have concerns about press reporting. You will work closely with the Head of Standards and other colleagues across IPSO.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. About the role
