SEED Madagascar is looking for two new Trustees to work on its Board of Trustees and with the Managing Director and his team.  One role is to be the Vice Chair to support our Chair across her role, and the second role is to bring fundraising expertise to support SEED in its vital work in Madagascar.

At CPRE London we campaign to save and promote green spaces in Greater London and make London a better, greener and healthier place for everyone to live in, work in and enjoy.

We are part of the national network of CPRE, the countryside charity. 

We are currently seeking individuals with event management skills and with a passion for environmental conservation to join our team.

An event volunteer will help CPRE with the work involving multiple events, including the "Urban Tree Festival" and "London Rivers Week". 

Successful candidates will get the opportunity to participate in a range of fun and interesting events across May and June.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting event design to help the public engage with the importance and value of London's trees and rivers and potentially be inspired to get involved in green volunteering
• Developing systems and arrangements to help things run smoothly
• Supporting monitoring event impact / gathering feedback from participants
• Events follow-up to help maximise event legacy 

What are we looking for?

• Excellent organisational skills
• Some prior events organisation experience (may be voluntary)

• Planning, developing and sharing articles, news and stories from the group's activities and the RSPB.
• Drafting press releases in a casual and inspiring language, for local newspapers and other PR channels.
• Obtaining the correct permissions to share stories, names and photography.
• Communicate regularly with other members of the group, such as the Newsletter Editor, regarding timelines and upcoming updates and activities worth including.

PFP is a UK-based charity working in Africa and Asia since 2004, and this year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our Mission is to work together with local people and filmmakers to produce, distribute and show local language educational films that give help and hope to vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Our latest activities have primarily focused on Malawi, Sierra Leone and Kenya. 

Every PFP film seeks to bring about positive change by engaging audiences with themes, characters and subjects that address important challenges facing themselves and their communities.

-  We commission, fund and manage film productions

-  We train and mentor local film makers

-  We partner with other organisations to produce media for their charitable objectives

Primary responsibilities

- Chair quarterly Board meetings and monthly informal catch-ups.

- Lead the Trustees and Directors in developing and advancing PFP’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.

- Provide strategic leadership to the Board and ensure Board members fulfil their duties for the effective governance of PFP. This includes: ensuring PFP is accountable and carrying out its purpose for public benefit; ensuring compliance with the governing document and applicable law; and challenging the management of resources and ensuring financial stability.

- Advise executive management and partners on the design and delivery of programmes across all stages, including partner engagement, filmmaking and distribution, and monitoring and evaluation processes.

- Proactively seek fundraising opportunities, including through the development of relationships with corporate partners, grant-making trusts and foundations, and events.

- Write a review of the year for the Annual Report, and sign-off on the full Annual Report.  

- Act as an ambassador and public representative for PFP.

Our groups are entirely volunteer run and led. They are in the front line of engagement with local people, with an extensive programme of walks, talks, day trips and indoor meetings for the group and members of the public. We're looking for people who are passionate about connecting people with nature and helping in the smooth running of the group. By becoming part of the group, you'll have the chance to use your existing skills (and learn new ones) to build the group and make it an ever more important aspect of local RSPB connections with people. • This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.

• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.
