A carer is someone who provides support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems. All the care they give is unpaid.

We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Carer Support Officer in our Carers Support Team.
The role is currently based at the CSC offices in the Vassall Centre, Fishponds.
Hybrid working is possible.
Hours of work: 22.5 hours (fixed term until 30th June 2025 – with a possible extension)
Salary: Actual Salary £: £15,243 (FTE £25,406)
The Adult Support Team includes several services that combine to support unpaid carers in Bristol and South Gloucestershire in their role. These include advice and information, carers assessments, one to one support, and a CarersLine and Carers Emergency Cards.
The role will include:
Providing advice information and guidance
Providing one to one practical and emotional support
Signposting and referring parent carers to partner organisations
Maintaining and updating client records
Working closely with Bristol Parent Carers

Recent experience in an advice and guidance role

WorkWell is an exciting new government/DWP initiative to get people back to work. As well as providing work placement support, it will also address and support any physical or mental health needs via a Mental Health Provider and Physical Health Advisor who form part of the team. The pilot in Surrey will be going live in December and aims to empower people to take control of their health, wellbeing and any impacts this is having on their employment via referral to a WorkWell Coach. Working as a key part of the primary care network (PCN) and other community hubs, your challenge will be to provide a supportive environment that enables each individual to identify their health and wellbeing concerns and the impact these are having on their employment. That will involve taking a strengths-based approach, focusing on ‘what matters to me’ and, together with the individual, producing a personalised and holistic support plan that aims to help the individual thrive at work. We’ll also rely on you to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of physical activity, mental health and skills and employment advisors to provide direct interventions and connect individuals to diverse community-based support, thus ensuring they are able to maintain their health, wellbeing and employment in the longer term.
To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of motivational coaching and interview skills, the ability to organise, plan and prioritise and a real commitment to develop. Familiar with office IT systems, you have good word processing skills and know how to use emails and the internet to create simple plans and reports. Just as important is a proactive and flexible approach plus the ability to listen to, and empathise with, people from all backgrounds and provide person centred support in a non-judgemental way. Put simply, you’re committed to reducing health inequalities and able to support people in a way that inspires trust and confidence, thus motivating others to reach their potential.

Key responsibilities of our Executive Assistant will include:

About the role
The Philanthropy Account Manager sits within the Philanthropy Team and will work with supporters who are giving at the five and six-figure level. They can be individuals, couples or small family trusts and often support many different areas of our work, both financially and non-financially. As a team we are a friendly, innovative, creative, collaborative team and, whilst we have an ambitious income target this year, we are bold in our ambitions for growth. We are always up for trying new things, taking a few risks and learning from when things fail. Our ultimate goal is to enable our donors’ support to be as impactful as possible, and inspire their loyalty and commitment to our mission to end homelessness.
The Philanthropy Manager role is varied, and alongside managing a portfolio of warm donors and prospects and securing five and six-figure gifts, there will be opportunities to lead on fundraising campaigns, events and other key projects. Other parts of the role include actively seeking new business working with our prospect researcher, building relationships to support and facilitate peer-to-peer giving, and finding new and creative ways to engage both new and existing donors in Crisis’ work. Creating compelling proposals, cases for support, reports and other bespoke communications will also be required. The successful candidate will manage, coach, and inspire the Philanthropy Administrator, and support them with their workload.

We are looking for someone who has:
- A proven track record of building strong relationships with prospects and donors and securing gifts at the four to five-figure level.
- Experience of engaging and influencing high-value and high-profile individuals; understanding their motivations and inspiring confidence.

EXCITING BRAND NEW ROLE!
We are seeking a confident individual, ideally with lived experience of the Armed Forces life to manage all elements of volunteering for our Armed Forces Community project in the Northwest of England, as part of the "Thrive Together" Veterans' Places, Pathways & People Programme (VPPP) in the same region.
This is a part time home-based role with extensive travel, where required, across Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria. Hours are flexible to suit, but will be between Monday to Friday.

About this exciting opportunity
Working in partnership with partner agencies, other St Giles Trust teams and referral organisations, you will identify and receive appropriate referrals to the project and build effective partnerships to support clients. You will be responsible for an ongoing caseload of clients, regularly reviewing progress and applying case management skills to provide a personalised service and meet all set targets, and you will be expected to organise and deliver one-to-one and group activities to prepare clients for employment and to achieve their goals.

We are looking for an experienced Practitioner to join our dynamic, ambitious team, to deliver face to face work across Essex, based in our Chelmsford Office.

The Staying Close Tenancy Support Practitioner will provide support to identified children in care/leaving care; increasing their knowledge and understanding; enabling them to find and maintain a tenancy. The service will provide practical support and training through face-to-face 121 support, virtual delivery and on a targeted group work basis.
The aim of the programme is to sustain young people (16-25) in appropriate tenancies, equipping them to manage on a limited budget, looking after and maintaining their home, and supporting them to manage relationships with Landlords, housemates, and neighbours.
Face to face and virtual sessions will run over a 6-8-week period, helping to build and nurture positive relationships with young people, supporting them with maintaining boundaries and developing communication to achieve programme outcomes, managing retention.
Working inclusively alongside the young people, focusing on both a relational & strength-based approach, building on their inherent strengths, protective factors and what they want to achieve through the programme. Focus will be on children in residential care/supported lodgings/semi-independent accommodation and separated migrant children.
Work a 37 hours per week flexibly to enable the delivery of the training modules according to the needs of the attendees.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
-A relevant professional qualification working with vulnerable children and families e.g., Diploma/degree in social work, counselling qualification, professional youth worker or related NVQ or degree.

The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure members of the local community are able to access critical mental health support at all hours. The service receives referrals primarily from a local hospital emergency department and crisis lines, and may receive these referrals at anytime of day or night.
