Main duties
Form a close working relationship with the Marketing and Finance teams
Lead the development and delivery of the Outreach Services strategic plan

The Role
The Philanthropic Partnerships Assistant plays an important role in supporting the financial sustainability objectives of GGF UK. The postholder is responsible for managing a portfolio of trust and foundations partnerships giving up to $200,000 per year, and will also be responsible for stewarding our portfolio of individual giving supporters donating up to £10,000 per year. The role also contributes to GGF UK’s communications activity in collaboration with our global Communications function, as well as contributing to ensuring that the organisation’s fundraising activity is supported with robust infrastructure and processes.
The position reports to the Head of Philanthropic Partnerships, and works closely with colleagues across Global Greengrants Fund UK and Global Greengrants Fund Inc.
The candidate profile.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in fundraising from trusts, foundations, and/or individual donors, ideally within environmental, international, or rights-based organisations. They will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and time management skills, effectively prioritising tasks to deliver excellent results within a complex, varied, and time-sensitive workload.
With excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, the candidate will have a proven ability to create compelling proposals, presentations, reports, and other materials. They will possess strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Google Apps, and collaboration tools like Trello and Slack, along with experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems. The candidate will have a strong understanding of and commitment to environmental and social justice, with some knowledge of the issues addressed by Global Greengrants Fund. Additionally, they will have experience working with diverse global communities in a virtual environment.
The ideal candidate will be committed to shifting power in philanthropy, promoting trust-based and power-shifting approaches to philanthropy and grantmaking. The candidate will have a strong understanding of and commitment to environmental and social justice, aligning with the issues Global Greengrants Fund addresses. With funding made available by Islington Council, we provide wraparound support in the form of orientation workshops; health and wellbeing; information relating to the asylum process; ESOL classes; social activities and befriending.

Role
This is a new position. Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, you will be involved in all the duties required to maintain a complete general ledger and financial records and support financial planning/forecasting.
International Accountant Responsibilities
— The responsibilities of the International Accountant will include, but are not limited to:
International Accounting Operations
- Develop a General Ledger Chart of Accounts which supports our current grantmaking operations with the flexibility to accommodate various directions in our growth, allows easy consolidation with sister entities, and is IFRS compliant to allow us to provide regulatory and audit reporting in various jurisdictions.
- Implement optimal Chart of Accounts and processes, evaluating current and alternate accounting systems as needed and developing interface processes to existing systems as needed (HRIS, Payroll, Grants Management System, expense reporting) as needed.
- Perform duties necessary for the timely and accurate verification and recording of financial and investment (MRI/PRI) operations including general ledger, entries and reconciliations, investment portfolio tracking and transactions, international payroll, benefits and taxes.
- Work closely with Human Relations Specialist on payroll and benefits administration processes.
- Collaborate with senior management team, Operations Manager and others to determine an optimal process for reviewing and approving expenses.
- Audit corporate credit card(s).

Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Assist in preparation of the annual organisational and department budgets.

Cash Flow Management

- Build systems for timely and accurate provision of data and provide direct support for annual audit and tax filing.

General and Other
- Develop and manage relationships with accounting-related service providers as needed including in-country and global accountants, auditors, payroll and tax experts.

Qualifications

As Systems Accountant, you’ll:
- lead on the development and enhancement of Unit 4 ERPx, functioning as system administration and SUPER-user,

To ensure that the Finance functions, financial reporting and financial strategies support and contribute to the overall aims and success of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Will contribute fully to the day to day operation of their team or area, with flexibility and without the need for close supervision
• Using a good degree of proficiency and well - established professional knowledge, will analyse and help to find solutions to challenges and issues that arise
• Support the Alpha Financial Controller in running the reporting and reconciliation systems of Alpha
• Complete monthly reconciliations (such as accruals and prepayments), as directed by the Alpha Financial Controller or with the Processing Team, if the need arises.
• Work with Accounting Processing Team on their monthly reconciliations, providing support on purchase and sales ledger
• Review the twice-monthly purchase ledger payments and monthly payroll for Alpha providing first-time compliance and accuracy checks.
• Review the monthly credit card payments for Alpha to make sure compliance with the expense policy and accuracy checks.
• Take responsibility with the Alpha Financial Controller for ensuring strong financial controls, good governance, and statutory compliance
• Assist the Alpha Finance Director and Financial Controller with projects on an ad-hoc basis.
• Detailed monthly bank reconciliation for Alpha with queries sent to responsible person for posting.
• Assist the Alpha Risk and Governance Team with Due diligence on grants outward –ensuring these are recorded completely and accurately; and that due diligence requirements are followed up, assessed, and filed
• Take responsibility for detailed analysis and reconciliation of all regional expenditure and income analysis
• Monthly Intercompany reconciliations and follow up

Contract: 14 Months Fixed Term Parental Cover, Full Time,
Location: The role can be based in London UK, or in a country where WaterAid has a Country Programme Office, subject to right-to-work eligibility in the respective countries.

Coordinate the IPD Annual Cycle
- Coordinate the IPD planning and reporting processes (Annual Cycle), including supporting the development and roll out of new planning and reporting processes.
- Build close working relationships with IPD senior management, Regional teams and key departments including Finance, People, Communications & Fundraising to support application and ownership of planning and reporting processes.
- Lead on the development of PMER guidance and tools to support IPD planning and reporting processes.
- Identify and support regular reviews and adjustments to Annual Cycle processes
Lead the coordination of the PMER Community of Practice
- Lead the coordination of the PMER Community of Practice and organise and chair the Community of Practice Steering Group. The PMER Community of Practice is an informal group designed to facilitate the sharing of learning and best practice among WaterAid staff, especially PMER staff.
- Lead on PMER Community of Practice communications including the CoP communications strategy, quarterly PMER inductions, trainings and learning sessions and communicating regular PMER updates.
- Ensure that the PMER Community of Practice is active, incentivising participation in COP activities e.g. drop in clinics, webinars, discussions etc.
Strengthen organisational PMER capacity
- Develop and manage effective PMER capacity strengthening initiatives to support the application of the PMER core procedures and especially Reporting processes. This includes developing new and strengthening existing PMER guidance and tools and developing and delivering training.
- Provide remote and/or face-to-face support to Country Programmes and Regional Teams on an ad hoc basis to strengthen and build capacity in PMER
- Support any other relevant processes including administrative tasks within the remit of PMER as required
External Representation
- Represent WaterAid externally on key PMER issues, linking with key networks as appropriate
About You:
- Experience of coordinating and rolling out complex reporting processes, working with a range of stakeholders to ensure timely completion of deliverables
- Experience of building engagement of colleagues on a specific area of work, in-person or remotely
- Experience of strengthening the skills and capacities of others either face-to-face or remotely
- Good understanding of planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting concepts and approaches
- Experience of writing reports fluently in English based on analysing and presenting complex information to a variety of audiences

Position Summary
The Global Center is seeking an early/mid-career professional to support capacity development programming that advances equitable collaboration between civil society, government, private sector, and multilateral actors to realize a more just and secure world.
Working under the supervision of colleagues addressing cross-cutting thematic and geographic programs, the successful candidate has a demonstrated passion for human rights, security, and development and is keen to contribute their skills to a diverse range of programs.
The position will initially support Global Center programs on rehabilitation and reintegration of former terrorism offenders in Bangladesh and Indonesia, as well as other Global Center projects relating to countering the financing of terrorism and other related issues. As needed, other engagements may include work to empower civil society, advance justice and good governance, and influence national, regional, and international security policy and practice.
Working alongside staff in London, Nairobi, New York, or DC you will collaborate with international experts, project partners, and funders to develop and implement programs globally, including regular travel to countries of operation.
Responsibilities will include a range of operational and administrative tasks in support of Global Center’s programs, including contributing to planning, delivery, evaluation and program activities; logistical planning, coordination, and execution of events and meetings; drafting and editing of project documents, correspondence, and meeting materials; data entry; note taking; research assistance; communication with partners, diplomats and vendors; database management and contacts maintenance; as well as other tasks as assigned.

Role and Responsibilities
As a member of an international, dynamic, and multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be assigned the following responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of project workplans, including inception phase consultations and capacity development activities.
- Collaborate with team members, expert-practitioners, project partners, and funders in the development and implementation of program activities.
- Assist with the cultivation and management of a network of local, regional, and international beneficiaries, experts, partners, and donors from government, community groups, and civil society organizations.

- Excellent written communication skills are essential. Foreign language skills are desired, but not required.
- Experience interacting with internal and external contacts such as government and policymakers, civil society, and donors (experience in the Global South is an advantage).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Must have authorization to work in the United Kingdom, Kenya, or the United States.
