We are seeking to appoint a Trustee Safeguarding Lead to provide strategic oversight and leadership for the organisation, particularly in the area of Safeguarding.
The purpose of your role is to work alongside the other trustees to ensure that the Association is working towards its charitable purposes, is complying with all applicable rules and laws, and is making best use of its resources to achieve its aims.
Whilst safeguarding is the responsibility of all trustees, as Trustee Safeguarding Lead, you will provide support to the CEO and the Operational Safeguarding Lead in their operational roles, promoting safeguarding within the organisation and our affiliated Nightlines, providing a strategic, advisory and governance role.

An new opportunity has arisen within our busy Bexley SASS service. Our Advocacy and Support teams offer support to those affected by domestic and sexual violence in their community. Our teams supply information, advocacy and specialist services to increase service users’ safety and meet a range of needs – these can include ongoing safety concerns, emotional or housing support, reporting to the police, legal options and support through court, help around child contact, benefits and financial advice. The Watford & Three Rivers Refugee Partnership is a great local charity looking for a volunteer to coordinate, support and motivate our other volunteers. We provide practical and emotional support to refugees, asylum-seekers and other vulnerable migrants in our community. The London Basketball Association is pleased to announce that an opportunity has arisen for a Board of Trustees Chairperson to join our intensely committed organisation.
The Board of Trustees Chairperson is a pivotal role within the organisation, tasked with holding the Board and Executive Team to account, to ensure the Charity hits its mission and longer term strategic visions. As a Branch Secretary, you would be in an essential volunteer role as the principal communications trustee managing and maintaining the administrative affairs of our branch. Using your expertise and skills, you will be able to influence how we care for and prevent cruelty to animals and drive the implementation of key initiatives. We rescue and rehome around 200 animals each year and provide community help and support with animal welfare in all DA postcodes plus BR8 postcodes.
As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 2 to 3 hours. However, the commitment may vary depending on whether or not the trustee takes on additional duties.
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Secretary:
- To act as the primary contact point for all branch communications with the national Society, the branch committee and the branch membership.
- Arrange branch meetings, ensure accurate minutes are taken and distributed in accordance with branch rules.
- Ensure all branch committee decisions are implemented and actions completed.
- Arrange the branch AGM including the compilation and distribution of the annual report, nominations and agenda in line with the strict timetable laid down in the branch rules.
- Arrange the timely dissemination of the contents of all correspondence and literature received by the branch, ensuring availability to all committee members, and reply to all branch correspondence where necessary.
- Order and distribute RSPCA stationery, leaflets, posters and other fundraising and promotional material.
- Liaise with the Branch support specialist (BSS) and group chief inspector and notify them of all branch meetings.
- Advise the BSS of all changes to branch facilities, services and contact details.
- In the absence of the membership secretary, assume responsibility for the maintenance of the branch membership list.
- Submit recommendations for national Society awards to the BSS, in accordance with the wishes of the committee.
What we are looking for in a volunteer:
- Above all, we are looking for someone who is committed to the RSPCA’s charitable objectives and shares our passion for animal welfare.

As a Front Desk Volunteer, you will be the welcoming face of Historic Croydon Airport, responsible for ensuring visitors have a smooth and enjoyable experience. You will manage visitor check-ins, handle donations, and support merchandising activities.
Responsibilities:
Reception Duties:

Visitor Reception:

Greet visitors warmly at the front door or Reception desk.

Check if visitors have pre-booked and verify booking details.

Keep the Reception Desk attended at all times.

Booking Management:

Obtain booking sheets from Graeme and update them throughout the day.

Set out and supervise the donation box.

Maintain a supply of hand sanitisers, leaflets, and other materials.

Re-stock leaflet holders in the Main Entrance lobby.

Visitor Handling Procedures: People with a Booking:

Check the Lead Name off the booking list and confirm the number of visitors in the group.

Request a donation of £8 per adult on entry, payable by cash, credit card, cheque (to Historic Croydon Airport Trust), or QR code.

Ensure the donation process is completed.

Inform visitors of the location of toilets and answer any questions.

Ask visitors to wait in the Waiting Area until their Guide collects them.

Manage additional visitors, ensuring tour groups do not exceed 12 people, including the Tour Guide.
People without a Booking:

Politely inform visitors that entry is by pre-booking online.

Check the booking list for vacant slots and inform visitors of available times and spaces.

Advise visitors to book and return at the specified time, noting they cannot wait inside AH.

Allow visitors to wait outside for potential "no-shows" if they wish.

Be polite, sympathetic, but firm if turning people away, and provide the date of the next Open Day and booking details.

Merchandise Stall Management:

Set up and take down the HCAT Merchandise stall.

Retrieve and replace sale items from/to the cupboards under the model in Reception.

Run the merchandise stall, selling items to visitors.

Cash Handling:

Manage the float, monetary takings, cashing up, and recording total takings at the end of the day.

Ensure cash takings are not left unattended and hand them over to a Trustee at the end of the day.

Stock Monitoring:

Monitor stock levels and advise Jeff if stocks are running low.

The National Bargee Travellers Association (NBTA) is a volunteer organisation dedicated to upholding and defending the rights of itinerant boat dwellers on Britain's inland and coastal waterways. We exist because boat dwellers in the UK face significant challenges:

- Limited access to essential services like healthcare and education
- Misinterpretation and inconsistent application of waterways laws

The Opportunity:
We're seeking a dynamic National Organiser to support our newly established Kennet and Avon canal NBTA branch and expand in other areas outside London. This role offers a unique chance to strengthen grassroots activism and foster a sense of community among boat dwellers across the UK.
Key Responsibilities within the time you have:
- Provide crucial organisational and administrative support to the newly set up Kennet and Avon canal NBTA branch
- Develop and implement strategies to encourage NBTA members outside London to form local action groups
- Empower and support NBTA activists in organising their own initiatives and events
- Collaborate with existing team members to enhance our national presence and effectiveness
- Coordinate and facilitate communication between local groups and the wider community
The Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about social justice and community organising
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Understanding of democratic organisational systems
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Experience in grassroots activism or community organising (preferred)
