About the role

We are looking for an experienced and committed Business Development Manager to join our growing charity. Responsible for winning new business and retaining existing contracts to achieve financial and growth targets, this is a pivotal role at Kinship. If you are self-motivated, have experience of producing high quality, successful bids, can think strategically, and love to work collaboratively across teams, we want to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead on all commissioning activity at Kinship directly with commissioners and through tendering activity.

• Lead and support the creation of high-quality bids including writing technical questions and method statements.

• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Kinship, the external environment, and kinship carers and integrate this knowledge into business development activity and bid production.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience of successful bid production and bid management – from identification of opportunity through to submission. Track record in successful tendering for retention of contracts and new business.

• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. Able to articulate and translate complex ideas and service delivery models into compelling, structured, and high-quality written propositions.

• Ability to analyse large volumes of information to develop clear and compelling bids and proposals.

About the role
Are you a registered Health Care Professional with an interest in the early diagnosis of cancer looking for a new challenge and interested in working in the charitable sector? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Macmillan’s Centre of Clinical Expertise. 

During this two day a week six month role you will be leading on agreed pieces of work focused on the earlier diagnosis of cancer. The specific details of projects are to be confirmed but potential current projects include:

• Investigating ways to address the inequalities in the early diagnosis of bowel cancer 
• Supporting Primary Care Teams to address the inequalities faced by under-represented populations in the earlier diagnosis of cancer 
• The impact of co-morbidities on the earlier diagnosis of cancer, in particular in under-served populations.

You will bring insight, ideas, experience and thought leadership to the role to inform issues impacting on the earlier diagnosis of cancer with a focus on the impact of Health Inequalities. 

About you
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with evidence of management and clinical leadership experience and a strong interest in the earlier diagnosis of cancer, in particular for those with poorer outcomes. You will need to have good working knowledge of the current healthcare system and be a clinician with strong understanding of the issues impacting cancer diagnosis.

The Role

Working alongside the existing Community Fundraiser in London, this role will engage with the Dioceses in Westminster, Brentford & East Anglia to establish and strengthen links to individual bishops and diocesan communications staff. Attend parishes to deliver weekend fundraising appeals as well as giving talks and presentations to parish groups. About the Account Handler Role: 

As our Account Handler, you will act as a prime contact point for Unity's portfolio of clients comprising of individual Scout and Guide groups or other external small charity clients for their insurance requirements.

What we are looking for in our Account Handler:

• Experience with youth charities and their insurance needs
• Experience working in the commercial insurance industry
• Computer literate and experience in using insurance systems
• Knowledge and experience of FSA Compliance and TCF practices
• Must be able to demonstrate experience in insurance broking
• Must be able to advise on, sell and service all classes of commercial insurance products

Key responsibilities as our Account Handler:

• Offering information, guidance and quotes to existing clients in respect of their insurance needs
• Cross-selling and up-selling relevant products to existing clients
• Offering information, guidance and quotes to prospects in respect of their insurance needs and converting these to clients
• Achieving targets set in respect of existing client revenue retention, new business growth and lead generation and other key performance indicators

Blue Marine Foundation is seeking a Programme Manager who will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Convex Seascape Survey and lead relations with the project’s funder. This role may suit someone from a corporate or account management background, preferably local to London or the southeast and willing to travel internationally as needed. This is an incredible chance to work on pioneering global science project and to join a highly impactful charity at the cutting edge of marine conservation.

The Convex Seascape Survey is two years into a five-year, multi-million-pound pioneering research project working to quantify and understand blue carbon stored in the coastal ocean floor and its potential to help mitigate climate change. Convex Seascape Survey is a partnership between Blue Marine Foundation, Convex Insurance Limited and the University of Exeter, delivered in partnership with a consortium of over sixteen other organisations.

Project management

· Lead the project management process, matched to the project grant agreement, including oversight of project finance and all deliverables.

· Coordination of project partners to ensure activities and deliverables are achieved in keeping with quarterly milestones.

· Relationship management with project partners, serving as a main point of contact and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction with the project’s progress and outcomes.

· Responsible for organising and feeding into Steering Committee meetings, as well as contributing as required to Advisory Group meetings.

· Managing supplier relationships, overseeing contracts and work package delivery. 

· Representing the project at relevant conferences and forums or visiting fieldwork sites. International travel will be required at times.

Reporting

· Report progress into the steering committee on a quarterly basis, flagging areas of concern and actioning steering committee advice.

· Develop quarterly reports and updates for the funder against deliverables.

· Create annual reports for public viewing, promoting the success and progress of the survey, with support from the communications team.

· Creation of visual presentations for advisory and steering committee updates. 

Finance

· Overseeing budget spending data for the project with support from Blue Marine’s finance team, and co-ordinate invoicing and budget reporting for the partners.

· Liaising closely with Blue Marine’s finance team to ensure efficient deployment and tracking of project funds. 

· Coordinating finance reports for the funder and partners. 

Communications

· Present the Project at public conferences and various stakeholder events

· Supporting the communications lead in delivery of project outreach through press, digital and social media

· Contribute interviews or quotes for press on project developments.

· Assisting the development and delivery of a bespoke, project-linked education programme

The successful applicant will be highly organised, with a rigorous approach to project management. Desired experience includes:

· Successful delivery of multi-million pound, multi-year research programmes or other projects

· Track record of high-impact project management, accurate reporting and successful project delivery

· Competent and confident public-speaker with the ability to communicate complex subjects to a range of audiences which could include corporate, political and public audiences

· High level of numeracy with the ability to track multiple budgets over time 

· Excellent communicator with a diplomatic approach to management

· Skilled at reporting, with the ability to condense complex information quickly

· Aptitude and ability to work under pressure

· Basic scientific understanding may be valuable, but is not a prerequisite

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with some evening and weekend work required from time to time.

Location: Flexible with some time at Somerset House, London. Frequent travel required, including internationally to conferences, project partner locations and events.

We are working with an inspiring international medical charity to find their next Institutional Trusts and Fundraising Manager.

The salary for this position is £28,723 (FTE £35,904) - Manager Level, part time (28 hours - 4 days per week).

The charity have fully embraced flexible working and the role can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at their office in Colchester.

It is an exciting time to joining them as they have just completed developing their new multi-year global strategy to take them through to 2030, and to guide their work into the future. The Role

You will provide strategic oversight and direction for the institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets and line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target.

Provide the prime bid writing function for institutional funders and Trusts and Foundations.

Work closely with the programmes team, both in the UK and overseas to provide leadership of high-quality bid production.

Research new possible funding opportunities and develop a strong pipeline of potential opportunties.

Manage relationships with key funders and be the lead contact for trust and institutional funders.

Keep up to date with the latest trends in institutional, statutory and trust fundraising.

The Candidate
A natural relationship based fundraiser able to build strong working relationships with inteternal and external stakeholders.

Strong experience of working in statutory and/or trusts fundraising, including successfully applying for grants in excess of £50,000+

Substantial experience interpreting and translating material into compelling content for successful proposals.

Demonstrable strong project and account management abilities.

Confident in the development of budgets to meet proposal requirements.

Strong problem solving ability and confidence to bring in new ideas and drive them forward

Experience of writing and communicating for different mediums and channels and applying writing and branding requirements to reports and documents.
