Our culture and values

Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire places carers and those with care needs at the heart of everything we do.

·        Trust: we recognise that carers must be able to trust us to provide high quality services to the person they support.

·        Involvement: carers and those with care needs drive our service design and development.

·        Quality: we ensure that our services are high quality, flexible, responsive and continually improving.

·        Family friendly: we recognise that our service impacts on families and friends – not just the carer and the person they support – and so we design it with that in mind.

·        Availability and accessibility: we work to make our services available and accessible to as many people as possible.

·        Dignity and respect: we always treat carers and people with care needs with dignity and respect.

·        Duty of Candour: we will be honest, open and transparent in all our dealings with service users, including when things go wrong.

·        Partnership: we actively explore opportunities for establishing joint projects and relationships with other organisations to improve our services.

·        Learning: we learn from the good practice of others in order to improve our services and we encourage others to learn from us.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Diversity exists when many different types of people are included.

Equality is about eliminating discrimination and ensuring equal access to opportunities in employment and equal access to services. It is recognised that some people may need additional help to get the same opportunities.

Human rights has as its core principles: dignity, fairness, equality and autonomy. Human rights help individuals to flourish and fulfil their potential through: being safe and protected from harm, being treated fairly and with dignity, living the life they choose and taking an active part in their community.
